Wallet of missing Denton woman found amid police search

Here on Fox 4, there are new developments in a missing persons case out of Denton. Volunteers have found the wallet of a 42-year-old mother of three who vanished last month. Investigators previously found her car abandoned near her estranged husband's apartment. Well, a flock camera tracked his SUV to New Mexico, and police have now obtained a murder warrant for Richard Perez. Fox 4's Vanya Castillo has more on the search. We're looking at a possible breakthrough in the search for a missing Denton mother. After three weeks since Marjolaine Briceño Arrieta's disappearance, volunteers say they've found her wallet. The 42-year-old mother of three was last seen on September 28th after meeting her estranged husband at his Denton apartment. He was helping her sell her vehicle. Police found her car abandoned near her estranged husband's apartment. They also discovered that the license plate on their vehicle were switched. Her estranged husband is Richard Pastor Perez and is now wanted for murder and is on the run. Police believe she is dead based on evidence they already recovered, but they haven't found her body or Perez. Today, a private investigator and volunteers searched areas they believed could help locate her. They say they found her wallet along with something else they wouldn't share with us along Highway 380. Nothing's been found in three weeks. It'll be three weeks tomorrow. And this is the first clue that we have. So this is the breakthrough. We're closer for the family. I think that we've narrowed this down significantly. So between what we found here and in the other location, law enforcement has a good place to start looking. So police says the findings have been turned over to law enforcement. We have reached out to Denton police who say they have no updates for us at this time. Local law enforcement and the FBI are still searching for Perez. There is a $2,000 reward being offered for information leading to his arrest. Later tonight, we'll bring you more on how the family is doing and the legal fight they're going through to try and get custody of Briceño Arrieta's youngest child. Vanya Castillo, Fox 4 News.
