AI GeneratedAs the midterm elections approach, the \"No Kings\" movement organized over 3,000 nationwide events to protest President Trump's policies and encourage early voting. In North Texas, hundreds gathered across multiple cities to advocate for democratic participation and express opposition to the current administration's direction.
With the midterms now just weeks away,
No King's demonstrators took their message
to communities coast to coast.
Organizers planned more than 3,000 events today,
encouraging people to cast their ballots early.
The rallies are built off of earlier protests against President Trump
and his administration's policies.
Multiple communities across the Metroplex held events today,
adding their voices to the national call.
Fox 4's Vanya Castillo has that snapshot for us.
North Texans are two days away from being able to cast their votes,
and the political divide was on display today as hundreds took
to the streets with a message for President Donald Trump.
They've taken their message to the street before.
I can't stand the guy that's infested the White House,
so he thinks he's the king.
Across North Texas, hundreds of protesters taking
a stand against President Donald Trump as part
of the No Kings protest taking place nationwide.
But this time, the focus isn't just on making their voices heard,
but making their votes count.
That people do vote.
One of the issues in Texas is that Democrats don't come out to vote.
And so they need to because we need big changes right now
in the fascist regime that is in power.
We as Americans, we have the right
to choose to vote to whoever we want.
From Dallas to Denton, Frisco, Plano and Southlake,
protesters gathered Saturday as Texas prepares
for the November election and early voting begins Monday.
For some gathering together to speak on health care, immigration,
LGBTQ plus and women's rights and against President Donald Trump.
The mass immigration roundup, as they call it.
OK, that to me, that to me, that's the number one issue.
For others, it's about the future of Texas.
We want a legitimate person who really cares for Texans.
The idea that our democracy is drowning by fake news that Donald Trump
is just spreading all over the place with his puppets,
whether it's Abbott, whether it's Paxton.
They're hoping people will take their frustrations to the ballot.
Well, I want to encourage people to vote.
You know, that's one of our rights.
The White House has pushed back on the movement's message.
In a statement to USA Today, a spokeswoman said the focus
on voting shows organizers should change their name.
And argued Republicans offer voters a better choice in November.
The protest organizers want to make it very clear that they
were there to practice their First Amendment right peacefully.
