All right, welcome back. Let's get right to the forecast here, JD.
I mean, it's a beautiful day outside.
It is crazy nice. It really is.
And while the forecast, looking forward,
is not a bad week in October, it's just not going to quite compare
to what we've been able to do for the last couple of days.
This weekend has been fantastic. This morning, a little chilly.
Look at how many folks in the 40s.
Huntsville, 48 degrees. Tomball, 45 degrees.
A little milder over in College Station at 51,
but right down the road there in Brenham, 47.
Intercontinental Airport, 50 degrees.
And again, that is the low temperatures that we saw this morning.
This afternoon, warming up.
We were able to make it up to the mid-70s.
We're going to be right at that 80-degree mark for tomorrow.
So we're going to add another 5 degrees in or so.
Again, this is a fantastic-looking view of the skies.
It should set us up for another very pleasant evening
as far as the sunset goes.
Our winds have begun to shift a little bit, though.
We're no longer out of the north or northeast.
We're out of the east to southeast.
And you know what that means.
That starts bringing that change for sure.
We've got 74 degrees in the downtown Houston area.
So we start to see those winds shifting around.
More of an easterly component than anything else right now,
which is, again, a little neutral, a little bit milder.
And then once those winds get locked in out of the southeast
and coming in off of the Gulf, that's
when you know the temperatures are going to start going back up.
for sure. The humidity levels will eventually sort
of follow suit, but it'll take a little
bit of time to get there.
We've got the current temperatures pretty much set where we talked
about those high temperatures for the area today.
One negative that we're still wrestling with is
the ragweed. And again, it's pretty typical
this time of the year. And sometimes though,
these cold fronts, when they come in,
they bring a little rain with it, can kind of help wash
things out. Not the case with this front.
This front did not bring us any rain, not a lot of
rain and so we are still stuck with all
of the pollutants that are floating around even if
they're naturally occurring like the ragweed
and we'll be dealing with that for a little bit longer
probably for quite a bit of the week as a matter of fact
because you'll notice i don't have any
rain chances on the board there less than
a 10 percent chance for the entire week and as i mentioned
this gradual warm-up is happening
with temperatures starting around 80 tomorrow by the time we get to
the end of the week, Friday, Saturday,
we're much closer to that 90 degree mark and the morning's
also becoming milder, but the rain chances,
keeping those out, you'll also recognize a
little bit more humidity being added into our environment each day.
