What if you could turn an empty Klein Tools MODbox organizer into the ultimate jobsite EDC kit?
In this video, I’m taking a leftover Klein MODbox organizer and turning it into a compact everyday carry system filled with useful jobsite amenities that Klein Tools doesn’t manufacture.
This isn’t another tool kit! Instead of filling the box with screwdrivers, sockets, and bits, I’m focusing on the little things that can make a long workday more comfortable, convenient, and manageable.
The idea started when I removed the original tools and inserts from one of my Klein organizers and transferred everything into a drawer storage system. That left me with an empty MODbox organizer and an opportunity to build something completely different.
Inside this kit, I’ve included a variety of practical jobsite essentials:
* Compact first aid kit * Pocket notebook * Hand and toe warmers * Mosquito repellent wipes * Dude Wipes * Caffeinated pouches and energy gum * Caffeine and electrolyte drink mixes * Electrolyte and vitamin drink mixes * 3-in-1 instant coffee * Blistex lip balm * Lighter * Two deployable towels * Universal phone charging cable with Lightning and USB-C compatibility
Everything fits into a compact organizer that can integrate with the Klein MODbox system, making it an easy addition to an existing tool setup.
And here’s the best part: you don’t need to buy an expensive tool kit just to recreate this build. Klein sells empty organizers, and there are inexpensive bit-set versions that you can empty and repurpose for your own custom loadout.
Sometimes the most useful addition to your tool system isn’t another tool. It’s everything else you might need throughout the workday.
What would you add to your own jobsite essentials kit?
The presenter demonstrates how to repurpose empty Klein tool kit cases into a customized \"Job Site Quality of Life Kit.\" By removing the original inserts, these cases integrate into the Modbox system to store essential non-tool amenities, consumables, and emergency supplies that improve the daily work experience and provide convenience on the job.
Everybody, we are back with another review.
And today we're going to be checking out a neat
little Klein mod box that I put together.
So without further ado, let's hop right to this
review. So today I was going through some of my Klein tools,
um, boxes, and I had a bunch of these
empty cases that come with kits.
Uh, what do you do with those? You know what I mean? Sometimes
you just put them with screws
and all kinds of random parts, and then they stack, which is
beautiful. Um, but if you don't use all your cases
that come with kits, and if you don't know
what i mean this is an empty case that has
been repurposed this is what a kit looks like you get
a kit like this you take them all all the stuff out of here
and you don't use it anymore you can
pop out the orange insert and now you have
an empty case this one i just put a couple meters in
to show you an example you know voltage
and gfci we got a couple meters in this one and this just
kind of snaps on and now you have an ability
to get access to your meters whenever you want and
Again, it snaps into your Modbox system.
Now, when you get a kit like this,
like I said, you take stuff out of here.
You don't use the actual case permanently.
You end up having an empty case.
So I said to myself, what can I do with these empty cases
that Klein hasn't already done to integrate with my Modbox system?
That's what we came up with today.
So we're going to show you that here right now.
So like I said, this is going
to be something where Klein doesn't make any of this stuff.
and we're going to check out basically
a job site here we'll put this back here job site quality of
life kit and again it's going to be all the stuff
that Klein does not make so that being said we're
going to check out what I put in here this would
be stuff that I would want on the job site uh
out working out and about doing anything with my tools
and if I'm out for a prolonged period of
time doing work this is going to be the stuff
that I'm going to want to have on me at all times and
you might be surprised you might be the job site hero
because somebody might want something that
you have in here and you might be able to help them out
so let's see what we got in here so i
got two packs of Repel mosquito wipes
so you can wipe like you know your neck your arms and
then you can pop the other one out and wipe down your legs
or something like that so you got enough
coverage for your entire body we'll go right
to left here another thing we got for quality of
life we got some hand warmers here
and some toe warmers toe warmers are always nice to have as
well as hand warmers keep them both going
at the same time again quality of life stuff that you
would not get from Klein but you'd want to have
on the job site that's what this kit is next up we
got is a pack of Dude Wipes eight flushable wipes
in here you can definitely enjoy this and then
refill this with a new pack once you're done using
that now you can see right we got a little
notebook we'll go with the notebook first so for anybody
who buys Klein stuff you know they do not
make notebooks they don't have any type
of writing anything you can write on so that's why this is in
here it's probably one of the only tools
that are in here that is not made by Klein but is very
useful but I put it in here just to prove
a point they don't make anything that you can write on so
I made I took a writing eraser
and I put a little Klein sticker on there which says wrong do not
hammer a wrench or don't hammer a wrench
and in the back here I put a little a local area map so
just a map of the area again something that like Klein's
not providing maps but for you on the job site
a map might actually be healthy uh to have
in in this little kit here it's not going to be like
baggage but again we took a non-Klein device
and made it a Klein device by just adding a nice
little Klein 2025 convention sticker
so let's check out the other stuff that we got in here
it's going to be a lot of quality of life
stuff stuff that you'd want to have on you
stuff that you'd be going back to the truck digging
in the glove box digging in the center
console for it's all right here in the mod box
so we got a lightning any USB-C charging cable so if
you your buddy anybody on the job site has lightning needs
to borrow a cable you're able
to help out your friends or you're able to charge
your own your own uh phones with this which is
actually the main event is for you to be able
to charge your own device but if someone else needs
it you have the convenience to be like oh yeah
i can hook you up man check it out there you go
and then you can let them borrow your cord now there's
a lot of other stuff in here that look
like consumables and that's what those are so quality
of life consumables we'll start off with
this nice little 3D printed magazine
which is going to have some pouches in here 50 milligram
caffeine pouches you can put your standard zins
in here your nicotine pouches if you would but
it's just a little pouch dispenser for you
to get yourself some dosages of caffeine we are not short
on the supply of caffeine in this kit let's move
on to the next we got 100 milligrams per piece of
military energy gum you're getting 100 milligrams
of caffeine with this so 50 100 pretty cool
multi-layered approach to getting some caffeine getting yourself
a little pick-me-up next up
caffeine wise 100 milligrams
of caffeine plus some electrolytes you got a little electrolyte
powder there that's nice if you want a little pick-me-up
in a drink form you don't want to chew
a gum you don't want to put a pouch in or anything like
that that's pretty nice it looks like one of
my pouches might have popped
because i'm getting all the pellets from the pouch all over everything
So, go in there and get that pouch out and get all those pellets.
Next up we got is just your standard three-in-one coffee pack.
Again, you're getting some more caffeine there,
but it's just a different form.
Again, quality of life type of stuff.
Stuff that you would want to have with you, some amenities
on the job site that just make things go a little bit smoother.
You got mosquitoes and bugs biting on you, wipe yourself down.
Hands are getting too cold, slide some hand warmers
in your gloves, you know what I'm saying?
Slide some toe warmers in your boots.
Stuff like that.
You don't want to be thinking about how
miserable you are when you're doing work.
You want to be, oh, this is what popped open.
This little fizzy vitamin C electrolyte powder.
So we just have electrolytes.
And this one, this is what opened up.
So this is the one we're going to have to replace.
It got popped somehow.
Somewhere in the mix it got popped.
But we got some dedicated electrolyte powder.
So we have caffeine and electrolytes.
And this is just dedicated electrolytes.
It's a little different.
But this also has immunity boosting.
And then we just have a regular pack of electrolytes.
so from Hydromate we got just a standard pack of electrolytes
so a little bit of an option
selection here for uh drinks and consumables
which is actually quite nice then we got some Carmex
not worse than having your lips all split open
and not being able to rub something on there to
stop the hemorrhaging of hurt next up we got
is a little plasma lighter this one's cool you charge
this with a USB-C lighter um you charge the lighter
with USB-C cord right there what we're trying to
gonna say lighter next up we got is some deployable towelettes
these are the towels you can get wet
and they come out to be a huge shop towel
these work out perfectly again quality life you're gonna
wipe yourself down a little bit put a little bit
of water put some of your the last ass end of your
water bottle you can dribble it on one of those and it'll
be enough to deploy it out totally now
here's a here actually is another tool that i did include
in here um that climb did discontinue but
it's a little magnetic telescopic grabber
so something like this is nice to have it's a
quality of life thing you drop a screw
and nut apart a bit something where you don't want it to
be you can just snatch it out with this and that's why i put
this in here because it's something the
climb does not make currently in production they did make
but they don't make anymore so that's
why that's in there and then the last thing
in the kit is something nobody thinks about
is a first aid kit so a little coleman 27 piece
that i've actually boosted and added a bunch of
different first aid options in there i made it i made it
a little bit more a little bit more extra
if you know what i'm saying
so a more of a complete kit uh way more than 27 pieces if you
would but needless to say it's got pills
in there it's got triage it's got everything you pretty
much would need to handle some minor minor first aid stuff
on the site anything uh up to you having
to go to the emergency room you can pretty much handle
with that so anything uh small and minor
is going to be completely covered
with that little tiny kit now again this is going to be everything
that you could pretty much pack with yourself
to have a little bit more of a better experience on
the job site in my opinion uh what am i missing here what
am i missing here what would you include
here if you were doing a mod box pack out clearly
don't pack out yourself a sprouts little delicate
mixed berry packet of vitamin C electrolyte powder don't
do that because that obviously doesn't
pass the test here because it got punctured
but what would you put in this kit what would you
take out what is one thing in here where you're
like dang i really wish i had that on the job
site on the regular or i wish i had that in my glove box
or wish i had that in my center console
those are the things that i wanted to put into this mod box kit
so let me know down in the
