What if your everyday carry kit looked like an ordinary lunch box?
In this video, I’m turning a three-layer stainless-steel bento box into a fully functional stealth EDC kit! Instead of using a traditional pouch, organizer, or backpack, I’m repurposing an everyday lunch container into a compact, organized system for tools, first aid, hygiene, and everyday preparedness.
The three-layer design provides separate storage areas for different types of gear, allowing me to organize everything from a multitool and flashlight to first aid supplies, utility tools, and personal essentials.
The idea is simple: everyday objects can become surprisingly functional EDC systems when you think outside the box.
It’s discreet, durable, reusable, and doesn’t immediately advertise that you’re carrying a collection of tools and preparedness equipment.
We are back with another review
and today we're going to be checking out how I took an ordinary
lunch box and turned it into an EDC kit.
So without further ado let's hop right to this
review because today we're going to be checking out
the Green Lunch Bento box. This is going to
be a multi-layered box so stay tuned
because it's going to be a lot of fun. So the box itself as you
can see here it's got one two layers plus the lid.
It's got a little smaller compartment that goes in
here on the lid as well
and you can see it's got like this nice stainless steel chrome look so
let's pop this lid off and check out what we got on the inside
so whoa it is super bright there we
go get that out of the way i'm shining in my face
that's part of the reason why i got this in a
certain position um so that i'm not getting just hit
in the face like the the movie the fifth
element anyway next up we got is a bandana
the reason why i put the bandana in this layer
is to hold and press down on these tools
so they don't shift around which is kind of important when
you have a metal box so you'll notice
in the bottom compartment i'm going to have the same
type of a tool in there something i would probably
never use it's mainly meant to fill the void and
to push down on these tools and making a ton of noise in the box
so that being said that's why
there's a bandana i guess i could use it to lay it out
as a placemat to put tools and stuff on or
work on as a placemat but yeah it's just a void fill
for now we got the the fire sleeve from Exotac
i put a piece of tarred bank line on here to tether the lid
so it doesn't get lost when they're
not together so that's important um so you don't lose that because
then it becomes essentially
useless here let's put this next to this then
from in here we got the uh multi force from Ozark
Trail, you bet, I bet you didn't think I was going
to bust out an Ozark Trail multi tool for this
build, but I did. It's got a little bit driver
in it, it's got a lot of normal functional uh tools
that are built in, there's a reversible bit uh built
into this that any other normal multi-tool
would have, so Ozark Trail putting out some really nice tools
that's part of their premium model I
believe for this year, next up we got is our flashlight
which is going to be the SK06 from
Loop Gear, this one's cool because it's got
the beam, it's got the laser, it's got the UV and then
it's got the lantern mode which I love
the lantern mode SK06 from Loop Gear, USB-C charging metal
battery bay door magnetic, very nice classy, next up we got
from Civivi we got a nice little folder
here with that washed style blade carbon fiber
Micarta handle here, very very cool and then lastly
since we got the multi-force with the grip
if you would, the other non-marring grip solution
I'm provided uh is a little adjustable pliers wrench from uh Work Pro
so it's pretty cool
very neat to have something that's not going
to just completely destroy anything that I want to
grab onto if I just use this, you know what I'm saying
so it gives me an option or it gives me an option
of preservation uh but it still allows me to have leverage
so perfect next up we have this little
kit right here which is going to be it snaps
in but as you can see this as you can see it's got
it's got a little bit of a small parts tin type of a feel to it
so got a right in the
rain notebook here with just some gear aid bandages gear bandages
if you would some gear
um gear repair that's what i'm looking for some gear repair patches
so you get a rip in your
jacket you get a rip in something like
your laptop bag you can just slap this over it's got
super grippy adhesion
which allows you to basically grab onto anything that you slap it to
kind of like the what's that guy flex seal type stuff it's kind
of like that it's from Gear Aid
it's meant for that next up we got
is a high flow high connectivity charging cable it's got usbc
lightning usba and usbc here
and tells you how much your watt draw is which is actually quite
nice and then we have a little apple charging brick
and we have an 8 gig flash drive and then
we have some more small parts as you can see here we got
the little bass nail clipper quality of
life thing. Foldable scissors from Fisker.
A little scraper bar. I would not use this to pry
anything. It's mainly just for scraping
and for picking and doing odd beater style things that
I'm not improvising my knife or anything else for.
That's what this is for. This takes the place of
me having to use any one of these other tools as a beater
or an improv tool. I mean, I can just open
boxes. So keep that in mind when you put pry bars
and stuff like that in your tool bags. They're
actually quite useful because it usually will take
the hit for using one of these as an improv
so you got a mini sharpie we got
a tiny Ticonderoga full size write in the rain pen
collapsible that one is we have
a magnesium pencil sharpener from KUM this one is a German
made one it has an extra blade on the side it
is called KUM you can use it to sharpen your pencil
or you can sharpen some sticks
and get some kindling for your fire speaking of fire we got
five all-weather matches tossed down in here from UCO
then we have a dedicated bottle opener and
an actual box opener from Gerber the bottle opener
is the little mini hatchet you can use this to
open up boxes for sure and of course open up some bottles
so it's nice to have a dedicated bottle
opener with you so you're not asking other people hey can you open
this up for me hey can you do
something for me no do it for yourself
so here you go micro USB to USB-C love that USB-C to USB-A
love that full sewing kit to repair gear
this with those patches at the bottom of the notebook
is a nice little gear repair gear repair setup
for yourself um so keep that in mind something
like this you can 3D print these cards
this is an old school one like super old school like
i got this from my parents it's a japanese sewing kit it's
a piece of cardboard you can 3d print
this in like 15 minutes and then just wrap the colors
or whatever kind of cord you want around
there for yourself and then pack the needles
in so build those yourself you can find the models
on Maker World if you want to print that that's
not printed like i said it's an old school one
then we got the bottom compartment
which is going to be the i guess a rest of the amenities we got
a space blanket this is going to be doing
the same thing that our bandana is doing it's going
to be pushing down on all this stuff
so i don't have military energy gum flying all over the damn
box every time i'm walking
and the momentum from me shifting you know my weight so something like
this and something like this in each one of the compartments
so i don't have two bandanas in this
kit so i don't have two space blankets
in this kit i decided to do a bandana which might be used
for something else and a space blanket that could
be used to do something else so i'm not duplicating
anything in here just to fill a void is what i'm trying
to say speaking of that we have this slayer
power bank gotta have a power bank in this kit we got
an ultra slim 10 000 milliamp hour
power bank for this kit we got two packs
of military energy gum my favorite we got cinnamon
here and we have uh spearmint i believe this one
is or yeah this one's spearmint does it even say
it on this one oh there it is spearmint
so they did it a little bit differently than the other
one but we got two really great flavors from Meg Love
that we got Dude Wipes, gotta have a pack of
Dude Wipes, we have a three-in-one Nest Cafe Love
that we have some electrolytes, that one is lemon
lime and then we have dragon fruit berry from Body Armor
this one is an electrolyte and caffeine so
electrolytes by themselves right here, caffeine
and electrolytes straight up heavy dose caffeine
straight up heavy dose caffeine
so an amenities kind of zone down here if that makes sense
then we got two hand warmers, these recharge
these recharge, they're super simple stuff
they just keep you nice
and warm, you toss them in your your vest pocket or your jacket pocket
your little front hoodie pocket
and keep your hands warm, you know what I'm saying, you got two of
them there for good measure, full first aid kit uh fully built
this one out added stuff to it of
course um bandages with Neosporin, it's got
a Victorinox in there, cleansing wipes deployable
towelettes, a full med kit, um,
with medicine basically is what this is. I took the 27 piece
Coleman. I have actually made a video about it last week,
um, where I talked about how I actually
built that out because it's essentially a $9 first aid kit,
but you can add like a few more
dollars worth of stuff. And now you have like
a legitimate complete first aid kit to pack out in
your backpack, your briefcase, your wife's purse,
your car, your truck, your SUV, wherever you can
just pack it out with a few more things in it
and now you have like a legit workable first aid kit
so check that video out if you want
but yeah that's what i put in this kit and as you can see
here this is a full-on kit i mean i got a lot of stuff
in here this is like this is not your average
lunch kit so if you don't eat lunch you eat one meal
a day like me this type of a situation right
here could be the perfect thing that you could pack out
and people think you got a lunch but
really it's a bento box full
of awesomeness utility tools anything you could possibly want
you want to sit down maybe while you're eating lunch
or people on the job and you want to just
have a nice drink of coffee or some caffeinated electrolytes
or maybe just have some non-caffeinated
electrolytes maybe you want to sit down
and chew some gum you know what i'm saying you have the
option to do all that stuff right here um with this little kit
and of course there's also all
these other you know gear repair tech things urban things
that you would use um traveling around a
city pretty much you know i'm saying i would assume
that most of the stuff you know charging
flash drives and stuff like that you're
not going to be out in the country preparedness
in the forest with a flash drive they ain't gonna do nothing for you
but um being able to charge
your phone you're probably near electricity
so that's how i set this kit up in the hand warmers
that's how i set this kit up this kit is set up
for you to basically be like going to the job
downtown somewhere and have yourself
a nice little urban edc kit that's built out of a lunchbox so
let me know down in the comments below what
do you think of my lunchbox bento build what do you
all the stuff i put in here is there something
here you cherry pick for your own kits that you
liked is uh this concept cool to be able to take a lunchbox
and turn it into an urban EDC kit i
mean let's go this was fun for me i've been staring
at this bento box for years um it's had
like this stuff these powdered drink things in them
and i finally took all of them out of here
and put them into a mini toolbox
and then i had this box that was completely empty finally and
i'm like dude i'm building a freaking kit out
of that i want to build a kit out of that it's got
a little compartment in there multi-layered design i can
do like everyday preparedness
and everyday use like tethered on top
and put some preparedness stuff on the bottom like the
first aid kit and all this other preparedness stuff
and it can be really a really neat kit
when you can just kind of separate it really easy
and look at like everyday use stuff on top
everyday preparedness stuff on the bottom
and you even have this little sub module with a small
parts tray so i saw this thing and the gears started turning
and i was like dang let's make a
kit so anyway that being said let me know down
in the comments below what do you think of this bento
box uh lunchbox sneaky pete there's no stickers
on the outside it don't look like it's anything
other than a plain jane little lunchbox little bento box
but little does anyone know you got a
lantern party inside so let me know down
in the comments below you like this video give it a
