We appreciate you.
I am producer Chris.
And coming up tonight, we are talking about the car
of the future making its debut right here, right now.
Plus, the corporate crop top.
We'll find out if you like it or not.
Why one high school was putting mirrors outside the bathroom.
Then later, another color of the year has been crowned.
And we will tell you what it is.
those are just some of the stories we
are covering here tonight on Do You Like It or Not and we want
to know if you like it or not so we want you
to join us live in the Zoom room so let's talk about
how to do it if you want to share
your hot hot takes all you got to do is scan that QR code on

You can leave comments in our YouTube chat or
you can go over to Fox 5 DC's TikTok page.
We have a live stream going right now and the comment
section is open. Somebody might be calling me a Temu view.
I'm not sure what they mean by that,
but any feedback is good feedback.
So we'll check in with all of our virtual co-hosts coming up here
in just a second. We'll
also welcome back Lex Juarez to the studio here in just a minute.
She's just wrapping up over on the 7 o'clock show.
But in the meantime, let's dive right in.
And we are going to start off tonight with the car of the future today.
Take a look.
Tesla's
next
generation
Roadster.
And as you can see, it took the idea
of a test drive to new heights, literally.
Last night's demonstration in Texas showed
the electric supercar climbing a vertical wall,
driving upside down, briefly flying, then safely landing,
and hitting 60 miles per hour in less
than one second. The car is a collaboration between Tesla
and SpaceX. Elon Musk says
production could begin in 2028,
but the flying version will not be street legal, so that is
important to remember here.
The final price has not yet been revealed, but reservations alone
costs $250,000. So Lex has made her way over here. Welcome back.
Hi, thank you. Hi, everybody.
So look, a lot of people already own Teslas out there.
So like the electric cars,
the Elon Musk cars, they are here to stay.
That seems to be the case. But this flying version,
despite the fact that it's not street legal
and everything else that you see that it can do,
look, there are the Cybertrucks out there
that are supposed to be indestructible.
Do you like this or not?
i do not like it um i you can't even get me in a Waymo
or a car like that let alone something
that's going to be lifting itself off the ground
um and that test flight looked like a they were
on a roller coaster like
no thanks uh we've got enough like air traffic control issues right now
too i don't i i don't yeah before you i mean we've
got drones interrupting flight paths and things
like that the last thing we need is people
in their cars doing that i i saw this video i i
wrapped up the nine o'clock show last night.
I went back and I sat at my desk. I opened up Twitter
because it'll always be Twitter to me.
And this was the first video that popped up and I swore
it was AI. I was like, oh, that looks like bad AI.
I know that was the thing. So then I was
slightly shocked when I realized that it wasn't.
Chad and Laura are in the Zoom room on this Friday
night. Chad and Laura, thank you so much for joining us.
As always, the idea of this flying
car, this $250,000 plus future Tesla
Roadster. Do you like this or not?
We're having trouble
hearing you. Let's see.
Chad and Laura, Chad and Laura, can you guys hear us? All right,
what will we do again? Okay, we can hear you now.
Perfect. Thank you so much. You can hear us? Yep,
we can hear you. La, la, la, la, la, la. Oh, yeah.
You can hear us? We can hear you. We're saying
what's the worst that could happen, right?
And I was saying we should just unleash these things
on the streets of D.C., Maryland, and Virginia
and just see what happens.
Yeah, right?
Why not?
Absolutely.
This is just Elon's flamethrower.
Like I said, it's not going to be street legal.
He's just showing off.
This is just that flamethrower.
But Elon being Elon.
I mean, look, he was showing off with the Cybertruck
when he threw a rock at the window
and shattered it by accident.
And now we see those all over.
He had Joe Rogan shoot an arrow into the side of it
and didn't do anything.
It dented it a little bit.
An arrow?
What's that going to do?
It's not going to do anything.
That's supposed to be armor piercing.
Melissa is in the Zoom room on this Friday night.
Melissa, I have the feeling you're not a fan of this.
I am not, but fortunately, I hang out with old farts that drive,
you know, cars that are luxurious.
So I get a, you know, once in a while, you know,
I get a ride or I get to ride it or I, you know,
but I get schooled on keeping both hands on the wheel.
Ten and two position, the four and six position,
whichever is the safest.
Yes.
Allison, Allison is in the Zoom room on this Friday night as well.
Allison, do you like the idea of the flying car?
Allison, my, all right, we're having trouble with Allison right now.
All right, look, here's my hot take, Lex.
I am totally okay with this.
I am, my biggest problem with it
is always going to be the human element.
As long as there is a human driver, I do not trust it at all.
But I advocate and I have been a huge advocate
for the autonomous vehicle.
So, like, I don't think we're there yet.
But anything we can do to cut down on distracted driving,
including taking the controls out of human hands, I am all for.
Allison, do you like the flying car?
Chris, I don't like it.
And I understand that rich people like to have rich people toys.
That's great.
But if you think about it,
once people purchase this, what can you do with it?
you can't ride it or drive it anywhere yeah
and not to mention the fact that i don't think most
people or anyone needs a car that can go zero to 60
in less than a second it's begging for trouble
we have heard horror stories we have seen horror stories of people
who have no respect for the
amount of power on which they are sitting
and i don't know i on the one hand i understand and
it's exciting to move forward
but progress we've wanted this since the jetsons but i just don't see
it okay speaking of flying if you've
been on a plane lately you may have noticed something or
you may not have because it's something you only notice
when you definitely need it we are talking
about barf bags because apparently they have gone missing
from the seat back pocket the wall street
journal says some passengers prone to motion sickness
are bemoaning the spotty availability
of the once reliable amenity you sat down
in that pocket in front of you there was always one of
them to make matters worse it's not the sort
of thing like i said that you notice until you're
in urgent need of one passengers have theories
as to why they may be missing they blame everything
from short turnaround times between flights
flight attendants may not have time to restock
or even a life hack popular on tiktok they say passenger misuse
also people pulling them out
using them for other things major u.s airlines tell
the paper that the bags are still supposed
to be there but flight attendants admit they are not always stocked
so no more barf bags on planes
i have never personally seen anyone use one yeah
i i think i'm i don't want to say i don't like it
because if somebody next to me needs it i i want them to have it
but i i've never seen it or needed
it or seen somebody in need
and so i i'm kind of indifferent about this one feels like
such a throwback to like maybe a different time like back
when you always had a blanket if you
asked for it you know like i don't know
but billy billy are you a fan of the barf bags have you ever
needed one have you ever seen someone need one
and do you think they should still be standard
i've never needed one i've never seen anybody use one
but i truly believe that they need to
have them there because if you're in a 10-hour flight
and somebody throws up beside you
that smell and that you know it's going
to be disgusting yeah that's a chain reaction situation
too because if you throw up and i see it
or i smell it i'm absolutely going to throw up as well
chad and lara lara's a frequent flyer the idea
of the barf bags should they still be standard
have you ever needed one or have you seen someone use one i sat next
to someone who used one once
it was a flight from boston i don't know to like denver
or something not a short flight and as soon
as the plane started reversing from the gate he turned to me
and he was just like i'm so sorry
about this to grab the barf bag
and just he just sat there with the bag the whole time like four
or five hours i don't remember how long oh it's
breaking news i just saw i just i just saw
lightning breaking news thanks chad oh thank you very much
our resident weather fanatic i'm in
Friendship Heights i'm in Friendship Heights all right
so we can probably see it outside our window
too since we're just a few blocks north of you oh
my gosh is it raining chad uh no what are you
drinking um of course we'll splash
of a watermelon mint watermelon with a fancy i love yours all
right melissa the barf bag on the plane should it still
be a standard amenity i never needed one um
and i'm a mom so if i need to hold someone you know
and and you know i'll do it and then go
wash my hands it didn't bother you know smell
and stuff like that doesn't bother me i've done
with this one before and we're not even in an airplane
but um yeah you know just hold a cup up
or whatever i can get my hands on and that's it
but i never needed one but i mean there are people
that do need it and there are people
that do take medications before they go on flights um i think
they should still have it it should be part of like
the what is it first aid kit or whatever but
no i i don't think you should get rid of them
at all yeah anything can happen for a lot of people
and to your point a lot of kids traveling
and uh you know accidents can happen going back to the
cars now one of the most controversial features
in most modern cars is that auto start stop button
that feature where when you come to a stop
and your foot is on the brake the engine shuts off
then it starts again when
the driver releases it yada yada yada some critics have called it the
single worst feature in cars
and the trump administration hates it too transportation
Secretary Sean Duffy has called it
an idiotic requirement that every driver hates, and they
have revoked the incentives to automakers to include it.
But in a recent Washington Post op-ed,
which we're looking at right now,
one veteran auto journalist is taking a stand in support
of the feature because he says it can save you money on gas.
And he says in an age of record
high gas prices, we're flirting with that $5 a gallon mark.
He appreciates anything that can
save drivers money so lex the the auto on off does
your car have one do you turn it on do you
turn it off do you like it do you not my car doesn't have it
and i wouldn't want a car that
had it because it gets on my nerves even
as a passenger i i dislike it you were like the
trump administration is against this and i
was like well i agree with them yeah but but some
people have trouble admitting that sometimes
that's why i was like yep but i i you know my
car is too old to have one of these um but every rental
car i've ever had it is literally i like
adjust the mirrors and then i find that button
if you don't know you can turn it off yeah a with a
circle around it it's the first thing i look for in most cars
and i immediately shut that off but
the Washington Post guy makes a good point, he does make
a good point if i'm gonna save money on gas then
maybe i would consider, i don't know, there
are some things i'm willing to just pay for and that
may be one of them, Allison, i know you're
a fan of your cars maybe not the flying kind
but the auto start stop, do you like it
or not? um, i don't think i like it. Chris and Courtland's in
the background, he just told me we don't like it
but this is my thing, i'm a very tech person and
i can fix like everything and i know how things work
to me this would cause a vehicle more inertia
which means something else in the vehicle would have
to keep being used more and more and worn
down, which would cause a repair sooner.
So I think it's actually not as good as people think
it is. Allison, you are so spot on.
Some of the people in the comment sections and some of them
claim to be mechanics said that it leads to like starter issues
and it leads to wear and tear
on parts that might otherwise.
I mean, like think you wouldn't just sit there with like a light
switch and just like flick it up and down a million times for it
Yeah, inevitably it can't
be good for it. Billy, the auto start and stop.
Do you like it or not? Do you turn it on or off?
I don't, my car doesn't have it,
but I hate it because my girl's car has it. And it's like,
it's just so irritating. Like she said, it's very irritating.
It's wear and tear in your vehicle.
And it's just not really worth it.
And I finally agree with something that Donald Trump said.
There you go. You know, for some people, this can,
this is the thing that gets them all passionate
and fired up. It's even weird to me
when I'm like at a red light and the car next to me suddenly
goes silent, i you know i personally even
with like some of the hybrid vehicles that are so
quiet, it's unsettling so i don't love
when you can't even tell if the car is on or not, yeah and
it's just i don't know if you're in stop
and go traffic, i cannot imagine how annoying that is to
like you know yes constant you're already going back
and forth and then your car's turning on and
off that's horrible that's probably why they made it
so that you can shut it off the we are what
that sorry let me start over false start
the work week is over for most people but there's
an office debate on TikTok
and it all has to do again with what's appropriate to wear to the
office take a listen to this one the corporate space lately
is showing midriff okay midriff i
know i've worn questionable things
to the office people have commented that and every office is
casual more like some offices are more casual than the others
but the midriff i don't think
that's appropriate at any office.
The midriff in the office, the corporate crop top, that's
content creator Glazer's Guide.
The video has more than a million views, hundreds of comments,
as you can imagine, people going back and forth.
Some people like it, some people don't. Lex,
do you like it? The corporate crop top.
And look, I understand every office is different. Every
office has their own culture and dress code,
but in general, do you like this or not? No, I don't,
But I do like the name Corporate Crop Top.
Yeah, that's a banger right there.
Somebody should dress as that for Halloween.
But, yeah, I mean, I would worry about just wearing,
you know, not having three fingers right here.
Because that was the dress code growing up.
You know, it's like a razorback.
I'm like, oh, so, yeah, to go full belly out, that's,
you know, nobody wants Winnie the Pooh in the office.
it feels like it appeals to a very specific body type as well
which anything that you have to have
different rules for different body types i
generally got me out yeah i think is not really
this or different genders
because if you're going to you know if it's the corporate girlies that
she's talking about then are the corporate guys going
to be allowed to show a little tum-tum too
maybe a little of their belly hair
and then are you going to have an issue with it right these
are just questions i'm just asking the questions melissa
the corporate crop top do you like it or
not so you so you know i'm old right
and i don't like a lot of the trends that go go on especially
the things that come up um in the workplace
um you know i'm currently unemployed so the the places
that i do work at i i can wear sports bras
and crop tops but um in an office setting i'm sorry
i don't want to give off the wrong impression
because i'm a sexual person in in you know in
in all aspects and the last thing i want
to do is give off this you know this transcending uh vibe
that hey you know i'm showing my belly button i'm wild i'm
this i'm that so no we're not doing that
we're not showing that maybe outside of the office yes
but not during the office hours outside of the
office perfectly acceptable chad
is a strictly sleeves optional type of guy office or not but
chad the corporate crop top do you like it
or not well you guys know i work at a gym and you know
shane gillis addressed that last weekend
this is this is a Curb Your Enthusiasm bit that Larry
David had this one of his episode he hired a secretary
and she kept wearing crop tops and
he couldn't figure out a way to address it can you wear crop tops
at work i can wear crop tops
at work at the gym i don't dislike if you're
in the fitness center yeah if you're like if there's
a dress code laid out just father does
the dress code forbid it if it doesn't forbid it then you
can wear it that's like that's an interesting question
that is a very good point Allison the
corporate crop top are you a fan i'm not a fan Chris
for one just showing the skin it becomes
tight you know like Melissa was saying sexualized
and also it could lead to sexual harassment as
well um so i definitely don't like it yeah i i i tend
to agree with with everyone in the Zoom room
tonight Billy you get final say on this one
the corporate crop top are you gonna rock it no i'm
not and it shouldn't be dress code it should be breast code
because if you're showing your
breasts at the office it can be very distracting
for a man like me that loves breasts and i can be
like Allison says sexual harassment this show goes off
the rails on a nightly basis keep the
comments coming on all the stories we have talked about
so far coming up next white one local high
school
is
moving
mirrors
outside
of
the
restroom
welcome
back
to do
you
like
it or
not
on
this
Friday night alongside Lex Suarez for the second time
this week that's rare yeah that's rare that's
like Tony P Tony P status oh well me
and him we haven't met in person only online so we're coming
together top host candidates you can vote right now go
to their social media pages and check it
out maybe we can host together that would
be a dream come true i think for my friend Tony P
at one local high school there will be no more fixing
your hair inside the bathroom if you want
to do it. If you want to go take a look at what's going on up here,
you got to take it outside the
restroom. Montgomery Blair High School has moved
their bathroom mirrors to the outside of the
restroom entrances to keep students from gathering between classes.
The school's principal says staff
were finding groups of five to eight students hanging around
the mirrors after the last bell
leading to tardiness.
He says some students also sometimes use bathrooms to film social media
videos. The goal is to discourage those gatherings
and get students to class on time. So ditching the
mirrors inside the restroom. Do you like this or not?
No, I don't. I think it's going to be
a distraction in the hallway.
Now you're going to have people crowding in the hall and probably
have even more people that are tardy to class.
That's my prediction of how this is going to play
out. Again, I like it in theory, but I think you are absolutely right.
I think, and look, Allison,
I know I'm old, man. I know I'm old fashioned,
but I do think we need to bring back a healthy
dose of shame in society these days.
Like there was a time where like even just like
catching a glimpse of yourself in like a car window as you went by,
I would get mocked for
doing that. And now you've got people
with their phones out filming themselves dancing in a bathroom
at school. OK, so I can't judge Chris
because I'm one of those people to this day that does
all of those things so i understand
because appearance is everything like how you appear
how you look to other people especially
at that age now you got to keep in mind some of these kids
are either getting you know um humiliated or judged
or whatever or they they might think that
being beautiful or being handsome is amazing to them
so they need to be a different but i
understand banning it because sometimes they spend too much time
so i get it but i really don't like
okay i and i respect exactly where you're coming from on this one
because yeah of course we were
all the same way that was one of and again
this is one of the reasons that i have like i i feel
so i feel so sentimental about my own high school experience
because i did go to an all
boys school and it eliminated it absolutely eliminated
the need to feel like you needed
to impress anyone you just you you rolled
in looking like how you look you know what i mean
and no one cared it was incredible
and i i wouldn't have traded it for anything and had i
gone to school with and look we did have
an all-girls school directly next to us but there
was very very little you know in between
but had i gone to high school knowing myself at the time
i would have been one of those people
in the bathroom i used to do my makeup in the bathroom
god i'm and look at the career that i'm
in now anyway billy billy the idea of
putting the mirrors outside the bathroom, do you like this or not?
I like that idea.
Anything that can help with education
and help the kids get back to class on time, I'm with it.
Maybe they should have some type of electrical thing
that when class starts, it just, like, blocks it,
and then you have no other choice but to go out.
Billy, you may have just come up
with your million-dollar invention idea.
Yeah.
But you shared it, and we're going to steal it.
Laura, do you like the idea of moving
the mirrors outside of the restroom?
I don't know.
I feel like that's going to be more of a distraction, right?
They're going to be doing their TikTok dances and stuff
in front of the mirrors in the hallway,
opening everything up.
Disrupting the traffic.
I'm with you too, Chris. I think we talk about how we need
to bring shame back a little bit.
The winter is coming. Is that from Game of Thrones?
That sounds like it.
I think it was Hannah Waddingham.
I watched half the first episode.
I don't like things being taken away from me.
I don't like things being taken away from me.
If I was a kid, I'd be probably annoyed at it.
Can you imagine if there were just no mirrors at all
and that was just like a thing?
think you got food in your teeth yeah everybody's got
a phone you just look at a reverse
image of yourself a mirror is easier than using
the phone for that earlier this week we had the
debate over whether or not uninvited siblings should
be included at birthday parties tonight
we're talking about who gets to eat
at kids birthday parties take a listen this mom is just
gobsmacked because she's obviously roughed up to a party
and seen lunch included figured that that
meant for the adults you know drinks
and lunch supplied for the adults no it didn't of course
it doesn't it means fairy bread it means cake
maybe popcorn it means you know sausage sizzle
at best for the kids if they're going to feed the kids lunch
which of course i don't think you need
to and this mom's like hang on what's going
on here why are we not getting fed like what did
she expect as an ethnic person like we don't even
write lunch included like first of all if we saw
lunch included we would expect as in like it's sit down
for adults if we were to write all right
so feeding adults at kids parties do you like it
or not um if i think that they should be allowed
to eat the food that's there if they're staying yeah
is that an insane idea i feel like that was
a really silly conversation
when we were listening to it i was like it was i could not even believe
this was a debate i was like am i is my family like just that extra
and we are if you go into
Chuck E. Cheese and there's one pizza for four kids.
Yeah, I can understand maybe the adults
not diving in first. Or they buy their own pizza.
Melissa, was there ever a question about whether
or not parents should be allowed to eat at a kid's party?
I'm sorry, but if you're going to
go to a kid's party, make sure that you eat first before you go.
Because I know for a damn fact
that all you're going to have is cupcakes
and popcorn and candy and cake or whatever. I'm
going to eat and drink before I go to a birthday kid's party.
But a lot of these parents, they
you know they expect too much
and sometimes a lot of these parents that are doing these parties are
on a budget so you know respect them eat before
you go drink before you go and you won't have
no problem and this way you ain't got nothing negative
to talk about all right that's one take
allison allison is it unreasonable to think
that if you're hosting people there would be food for
them yeah i agree with melissa i always just assume it's only
for the kids so i will eat
ahead of time like if there is some big feast
for me later great um but i just assume not you
know because it's for the children i wasn't invited
but my child was invited okay interesting
i you know look this is why we love these debates
because everyone comes at it from a different
point of view all right finally tonight there
are just 76 days left in the year 2026 in case
you were wondering benjamin moore has joined sherwin-williams
in dropping their color of the
year for 2027 and architectural digest says it's
the design equivalent of touching grass so what
is it you're wondering stand by hold for applause
the color is called Webster Green it's described
as a verdant mid-tone with cozy blue gray undertones now
this is Sherwin-Williams color
of the year a similar route though they went with the green theirs
though is celery so going green
in 2027 Lex do you like it
or do you not i think i do i feel like i actually just had a friend one
of my really good friends
who painted an accent wall in her room a green i think that it can feel
it's bright enough to brighten your day without being overkill
like if you walk into your room after a long day and it's like
