Pepper local headlines. It's been a busy day weather-wise.
Skyler's here with the latest for us.
Marissa and Kevin, we have a lot going
on as we head throughout the next several hours. We have
strong storms that are going to be moving here very quickly,
around 50, 55 miles per hour is
how fast those storms are moving into our area now.
Now that's going to occur over the next
couple of hours. While it's here,
it's going to pack a little bit of a punch with some of that
heavy rain, those downpours, the potential for damaging wind,
both straight-lined wind and
there's a chance for some rotation.
So we're going to keep an eye on that. The potential for severe
weather is certainly there, as well as lightning.
We could see some of that isolated flash flooding.
We're not expecting widespread, but in some of those downpours,
especially if you have a poorly
maintained storm drain, things like that.
This is going to set the stage for that cold air to move
in. This is that strong cold front that's now moving through,
bringing with it some of this
nastier weather that we're going to be dealing with.
So in terms of what that's going to be
looking like. Those damaging gusts
are my primary concerns. 40, 50, 60 miles per
hour is possible. There could
be some small hail and there is the potential
for rotation within this too.
On top of the downpours, it's going to be an active
evening. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
