STORM WATCH: Tracking a few thunderstorms this evening, but showers go into Saturday morning as cold air moves over Long

I'm meteorologist Rich Hoffman, your hyper-local weather forecast as we go throughout the rest of our day. The spotty shower will give way to some sunshine. Then after 5 o'clock, we're going to keep an eye on some showers and a thunderstorm developing from west to east towards this evening. There could be a few gusty winds and the potential of some heavy rain with any thunderstorms that develop. Then after midnight, there's going to be some showers, it's going to be windy, and it's turning colder. By the morning hours, other Saturday temperatures will be in the 40s and feels like temperatures in the 30s. We have showers in the morning on Saturday, then they're going to go to sunshine in the afternoon. Saturday's temperatures are only around 54. Right now, those showers go to Saturday around 9 o'clock in the morning. If you've got to be on the ball field during the morning hours, you're going out a gusty wind with temperatures in the low to mid 40s. We are watching a few spotty showers this afternoon. You're going to notice breaks of sunshine developing. Here's our cold front. This is arriving, most of us, around 6 to 8 o'clock this evening. That's where we have the threat of those showers and storms. Hour by hour we go. Late afternoon we break out to some sunshine. Temperatures near 70 degrees in West Babylon. 6 to 8 o'clock, that's our main time frame. We're watching these showers and storms. And then the thunderstorm threat weakens by 10 o'clock. It's just a plain rain. Some gusty winds this afternoon around 25 miles per hour. And with the thunderstorms moving through, we could have some wind gusts around 40 miles per hour. Rain showers into tomorrow morning. They're done by around 9 a.m. out over the east end. and then the clouds will give way to sunshine for your afternoon hours. So 54 for your high on Saturday. Morning showers, Sunday afternoon, looks good, 56 degrees and dry. So the rest of today, temperatures 60s to low 70s. We're tracking those showers and storms this evening.
