All right, welcome back on this Friday morning.
North Texas is going to shift into high gear.
Welcome to the Java House Grand Prix.
Back to Arlington next year.
Single-day tickets go on sale today.
And joining me this morning, IndyCar driver Christian Rasmussen.
Thanks for joining us.
Yeah, thanks for having me.
All right, so thousands of fans came out
to the inaugural Arlington Java House Grand Prix last year.
What did you think about racing in Arlington?
Because it got a lot of hype, and there were,
you know, after the race, a lot of good reviews of it.
No, I thought it was a great event, you know.
And, you know, racing, you know,
right next to the Globe Life Field Stadium, the AT&T Stadium and everything.
Like, I thought it was the perfect place
to have a IndyCar race right there, you know.
And then with already having the partnership with the Rangers
and the Cowboys, I think was, yeah, I don't know.
It just made it such a great event.
And you got to look at all that stuff before the race
because during, you're not seeing any of it.
You're not seeing much of it.
No, we are doing, you know, we're going close to 190 down the straight,
Which makes it the highest speed street course
that we go to and so now it was an incredible event
It was super cool, and we're all super excited to to come back again
Yeah, and for people that maybe have never been to an IndyCar race
It's exciting. I mean I got to go to last year's race
What do you think I think draws in because IndyCar has been?
Increasing the number of fans exponentially
And I think people in I think the Java House Grand Prix
of Arlington was was a really good
Event to show what IndyCar is all about, you know
And I think the Arlington race kind of set the bar
of what street course racing should look like in IndyCar
you know, I think they did an amazing job with all the the suites and
Access for all the fans that they have at an IndyCar race
And I think that's partly what makes IndyCar
so unique is is the access for the fans, you know
Anyone can get up close and personal with the cars and you know see
way more what it's all about
which i think is super cool you know we've been talking a lot
this morning about the the big Tesla event where
they had you know they demonstrated the the car
and and and demonstrated this fan system on the bottom
of the car that sucks it to the pavement
which basically is downforce
which is what you guys try to achieve as much as you can every race
no you're you're exactly right you know we
obviously achieve it in a little bit of a
different way right but think of it
as a upside down airplane uh that's driving around you know
like we're just generating so much downforce
and that's kind of what makes us go as quickly around
the the corners as as we as we can uh on screen right now
is my uh Milwaukee when i can see here
that was a good idea there you go speaking
of cars hopefully we can do that uh during the Arlington
race here uh here next year he also a big classic
car guy also that yeah yeah so let me ask you a
question then uh do you prefer
or do you think it's more impressive a classic car that you see
that has very little at all that's been done to it
but is in great condition yeah or do you like
the mods i mean it's hard right
because i uh i like both i can appreciate both you know i i think
once you go like older than 80s yeah i can
appreciate it being just stock matching numbers
that and whatever and but i also have my own little
car that i like to work on and i like
to modify and stuff you know
so it's i'm a little split yeah a little bit depends on the car and
thank you for not making me feel too old yeah
at least you got it to the 80s yeah right all right
But single day tickets go on sale today.
The Java House Grand Prix of Arlington website
is where you can find the information as well.
We've got some information on our website as well, Christian Rasmussen.
Thanks for coming in.
Thanks for your time this morning.
Appreciate it.
