A delivery driver working for Amazon was shot
while delivering packages early Monday morning.
Amazon says the driver was for the independent contractor Flex.
Cedar Hill says an arrest has been made, but no charges announced.
Not yet.
Fox 4's Peyton Yeager spoke to the delivery driver.
Peyton.
Heather, yes, Cedar Hill police remaining
tight-lipped in this investigation,
only confirming to us that officers did respond
to that address early Monday morning
and that an arrest was made,
but they would not reveal if any charges have been filed.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old woman
who was shot was interviewed by Cedar Hill Police this afternoon
for nearly three hours, and then she sat down with us.
Yermar Martinez, wincing in pain, shot twice,

5 30 a.m monday martinez tells fox 4 news she pulled
into a driveway off north cedar hill road
to deliver a package it was dark she says
and she couldn't see the front door so she
flipped on her high beams
and pulled forward to an access road adjacent to the house martinez
Martinez says as she got closer,
she saw a man armed with a gun.
She tells us in that moment she rolled down her window,
showed that she was wearing an
Amazon vest and held up the package.
She says the man said something in English,
but she couldn't understand.
She says that's when the man opened fire from a distance.
Martinez immediately drives away.
She says the man still firing at her vehicle.
At the nearest stoplight,
she frantically got the attention of a person on a motorcycle
showing him the bullet holes in her vehicle and that she was bleeding.
Martinez moved to Texas from Venezuela two years ago.
She works for Amazon Flex,
an independent contractor program where people can use their
personal vehicles to drop off packages and choose their own hours.
She tells Fox 4 she likes to work early morning hours
to spend more time with her son during
the day.
And she says thankfully after being released from the hospital,
she made it back home to
her husband and her five-year-old son.
Martinez also tells me that Cedar Hill Police
is still in possession of her vehicle because
it is evidence.
Now, Amazon did get back to us this afternoon
with a statement saying that safety is the
top priority for all of their delivery partners.
And they have been in contact with Martinez to
make sure that she has the support that she needs.
Amazon went on to say that they are cooperating
with law enforcement and that they're still looking
into this incident. We'll stay on top
of it. Heather, back to you. All right, Peyton Yeager, thank you.
