Friday forecast: Cold front to bring evening storms

Yeah, it's a one-two punch for the rain today because we've got rain this morning and thunderstorms possible this afternoon with some sunshine in between. So that's why I'd be calling it a rain sandwich. But let's show you the two systems that are responsible for all this. The first one is the red line that you see there. That's the warm front that is starting to come through the area and touching off some showers. and in between the warm front and the strong cold front that'll come our way late this afternoon this evening there will be some sunshine so both systems are headed our way being dragged in by that low pressure system so that's the what's responsible for all this we've got a little more rain coming into Pocono Mountains, Lehigh Valley and we still have some rain and thunderstorms down around Ocean City, Maryland and southern Delaware as well so it just depends on where you are if you're getting rain right now but i would grab that umbrella because you never know when you're going to get a shower uh when you're out and about on this Friday some really heavy rain there at the Delaware beaches so for today showers around this morning midday breaks of sunshine it'll be warmer than yesterday and this evening thunderstorms with the cold front some could be strong to severe then the start of the weekend is when the rain ends tomorrow morning and we are cooler in the 40s Saturday afternoon it's going to be windy in the mid 50s and Saturday overnight patchy frost and temperatures in the 30s when we wake up on Sunday morning that's kind of crazy so we still have the rain around this morning and temperatures in the 50s and 60s upper 70s for a high temperature today sharp contrast to the 50s that we'll have both days of the weekend and then a nice stretch of weather Monday through Thursday of next week if you are going to the Eagles game on Sunday plan on sunshine but chilled sunshine because temperatures will stay in the 50s throughout the game it's a one o'clock game so if you're tailgating in the morning it's going to be pretty chilly in the 40s at the very least so you're now prepared Karen, thank you Sue Sario
