Shane Drohan got the start tonight.
Left-hander came over in a trade.
Wasn't even on the opening day roster.
Starts in the National League Championship Series
and talks with Brandon Cruz after the game.
So you get your first taste of the playoffs in this game.
What did it mean to get out there finally
and to be part of this tonight?
It meant everything.
We've been through a lot as a team, and I was just dying to contribute.
So that's what it is.
You've been together,
put in there.
What are you doing now?
It's been amazing, but I think I have
to give credit to all of these guys.
You know, they created an environment where I could come in
and be as comfortable as I possibly could in the big leagues.
And, I mean, that starts with Yelley and Wu, just amazing leaders.
And I think that's like the Brewers' secret.
Everybody always asks us what's the secret.
It's the people in the locker room and everyone pulling for each other.
Why is everybody so unselfish?
It doesn't seem like anybody's worried about
their hit or their strikeout.
they're worried about you guys winning together.
Why is that?
Because we know the end goal is to win, you know,
and individuals can have bad performances,
but at the end of the day, we just want to win.
Is this a dream, though, now that you're going to the World Series?
I know when I played Little League
and high school ball, I wanted to go.
I'm here on this side. You're the one going on the field.
Yeah, I mean, dream come true.
Since the first time you play baseball,
you know, you dream about playing in the World Series,
so it's amazing.
Congratulations. Thank you.
He's really enjoyed his time here in Milwaukee,
getting to know the city,
getting to become a bigger and bigger part
of the team as the season has gone along.
We talked a moment ago about how long a baseball season is.
Again, he was not on the opening day roster.
You get called up early in the season,
your role increases as the summer goes along.
They let her cook.
But Brandon Woodruff, right?
Okay, he's not currently on the active roster
as he's continuing to come back from a shoulder problem,
but he's around the team, he's leading, he's holding out hope
that maybe he could be on the World Series roster,
and he's talking about this in the clubhouse afterwards.
Can you believe that you're part of this team
that's going to the World Series representing Milwaukee?
Yeah.
You know what?
I can't believe it.
I feel like we've answered these questions a lot
over the last eight or nine years.
You know what?
I can't believe it this year.
This group is unbelievable.
We've been through a lot together.
And, yeah, it's fitting, you know,
how this thing happened to get here,
to get to the World Series.
And this group's ready, man.
We're ready.
But one of the things that really stands out
is there's not one selfish guy in the room.
How does that happen?
Because you've seen guys that kind
of worry about the mean numbers and all.
Not this group.
No, not this group.
And that's why we are.
That's why we're here.
That's why we play the type of baseball we play.
Everybody in this room plays for each other.
And that's why we're out.
That's why we're going to the World Series.
When I'm looking around and the spraying and all that,
there are guys that are pretty stealthy, including you.
Who is the best at getting guys maybe in the most vulnerable moments?
I feel like it's the little short guys.
Sal.
Sal's a good one.
Yeah, the little fellas.
That's what I like to call them.
So, yeah, Sal, he's a sneaky one because he can get through everybody.
You've been around the longest with this city and knowing the fan base
and what this has meant.
What does it mean to you that you guys delivered for them?
Oh, my God, it means everything.
they're the ones that push us to play better
in these big games in the moments it's the fans that
that make everything happen for us it gives us
the adrenaline gives us the focus and we know they got
our backs and that's the biggest thing
and uh it's a blue collar city and that's the type of person i
am and that's that's um it's fun playing
in Milwaukee, two more questions, what was it like
when you saw Jackson make that final out?
Well, it was hit pretty good, and I saw him take off,
and it's just one of those feelings you can't describe.
Yeah, good evening, everybody.
It's a fun scene watching the Brewers make
their first World Series appearance
in 44 years, and you can talk about the elation of this team
and what it means to them and the city of Milwaukee,
but being able to do it in front of a Dodgers faithful,
it has been an incredible ride for this team,
but it's also been just so fun to watch
this team develop and be resilient
and to be able to be a team that can be the difference, right,
to be a team that can make it to the World Series,
something that a lot of these players have dreamed of for a long time.
So one of those guys was also Logan Henderson,
who talked about what this day has meant to him.
Forever ago, you know, ever since I was a little kid,
so I think it's surreal to have this opportunity.
When Jackson had the last out, how did you feel?
elated. I mean, threw my arms up celebrating with the bullpen
and then sprinted out towards
the field. It was an amazing feeling.
How do you describe this team this season?
Oh, there's not enough words to describe this team,
but it's just togetherness. You know,
it's one collective effort.
Everybody's bought in on their own individual part.
This bullpen has picked everybody up this season, especially tonight.
What do you have to say about that group behind you guys?
I mean, they're sensational.
They've been the backbone of this team all year long.
And, you know, to be able to work out four rough, five unanswered,
to be able to hold it at four, four, three, was a job well done.
We're celebrating
because this is very hard to come by.
So, I mean, yeah, it's incredible.
Thank you for tuning in.
You can see how special it was for Logan Henderson.
You can see how special it is for
these Milwaukee Brewers to be out here
on the field postgame with their families celebrating, of course,
Their first appearance in a World Series in 44 years.
All the guys talked about what it would mean to bring
a championship back to Wisconsin and Milwaukee.
They're embracing these Brewers fans and this ride as well.
