Yeah, Ted, it is a book, and I've got Aaron Ashby here.
And, Aaron, what was that like being
out there going through the Dodgers
and being able to perform the way you did?
Just, yeah, unbelievable.
And just this team, just such a cool moment for everyone,
for as close of a group as we are.
You don't get to this point without being a really close group,
But it just feels like I would play 162 more games
with these guys right now.
So special team and just happy to be a part of it.
A lot of guys have said that, and I've
followed up with this question tonight.
Why isn't there a selfish guy in that clubhouse?
Because we won't let you be selfish.
We'll bully the selfishness out of you.
So you have to be a selfless human in there.
You have to be for the team, and that's the only way this thing works.
Because of that, how does that translate from inside the clubhouse
when you guys walked into spring training in Phoenix
to where you are right now here at Dodger Stadium?
I think being disciplined.
Murph holds us to a high standard,
and it's that discipline behavior, I guess,
that every day you're expected to show up
and be an unbelievable teammate.
When you're out there and you see Jackson run that last ball down,
what went through your mind?
Did you even realize what was happening at that moment?
No, no.
I didn't know what to expect.
I didn't know what I would feel.
My focus was just to execute pitches and get outs,
and when he caught that,
I was basically just waiting for the dugout
to come out there and get me.
So, yeah, it was unbelievable, unbelievable.
When you look back and think about it,
12-year-old Aaron being in this moment,
you're going to the World Series, what would he think?
I don't know.
It's what you want to do.
I feel like any time I've been in, I guess,
high-pressure situations from 12 to whatever,
I've always said like this is what it's going
to be like pitching in game seven of the World Series so
I've tried to like put myself there mentally
but not really words for it right now. It's just
it's just fired up to be a part of this group.
Last two questions for you. First of all what
does it mean to you to bring to be part of the team
that's bringing the World Series back to
Milwaukee, I feel lucky, um I feel like
um I don't know, I don't, I don't know that we any of us
deserve this but uh it just feels special to to be a part of this group
and um to be the ones that
you know hopefully bring a championship back
to Milwaukee for the first time and lastly you're
sharing it with your family, your little boys
in your arms just moments ago, what is that like
No, that's the coolest part.
I feel so lucky to have the family that I do,
the wife and baby boy that I do.
And that's definitely the most special part of all of this.
All right. Aaron Ashby, congratulations. Enjoy this.
Appreciate it.
