AI GeneratedCarolina Sanchez hosts a special \"spooky season\" episode of The Nightcap, highlighting various Halloween activities and entertainment options in Houston. The episode features a visit to a horror experience, a museum party, an immersive art exhibition, and an interview with the creators of a new local horror series.
Welcome to the Nightcap, it's your girl Carolina Sanchez,
and I don't need these, baby, and of course,
they want to torture me and put me back to 34, but I said,
only with one condition, I need a freedom of speech.
I'm over here, I'm over here.
I've got Isaiah Perry with me.
Oh, absolutely, I love this stuff.
So he's going to be my protector, right?
Alright, alright, yeah, yeah.
We're going to a hospital.
I got you. You'll be okay.
So just follow my lead or stay close to me.
But don't veer off the path.
Do not veer off the path.
He doesn't know me. I'm a runner. I'm a track star.
Alright, let's go.
Alright, you lead the way, though.
I shot into my son!
Not me with that one.
Ladies first?
Sacrificial lamb.
I mean, I'm looking out for my friend.
These weapons,
I don't think they come off.
They don't come off.
I knew it
was going
to come off.
No, that was brand new this year.
That was the biggest overhaul we did.
And then, of course, we added a lot
for our new Jason experience as well.
I'm so happy about that.
Tell me about it.
Obviously, we couldn't give you the sneak peek here
because you just have to come and experience it.
You just have to come and experience it.
We teamed up with Horror Inc.,
who's the IP creators, and started doing a haunt.
And it's fantastic.
So everything in here is all done from the IP,
all the music, all the sound effects.
We have about 10 to 12 Jasons that run around and chase you.
It's pretty iconic.
Okay, I'm going to catch my breath.
Isaiah has left me multiple times this evening.
I'm sorry.
So I'm going to go find out where he's at.
Okay, good luck.
Jeremy, an amazing time.
You already know what's coming.
Something.
Mission is advised,
but a great time.
I'm going to, yeah, I got to go.
Thanks for coming.
Thanks.
Yeah.
Who geeked things around Houston for Halloween?
And what better place than, like, the graveyard to spend it?
And yes, at the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences,
they're going to have spirits and skeletons.
Let's find out more.
OK, to find out more, I've got to talk
to the member engagement coordinator, Alicia Fernandez.
Hello, how are you?
I'm great.
OK, so obviously it's not going on right now.
No.
But this is the big party on Halloween.
Yes, yes, yes.
Everything, all the halls are open for the event.
It gets so many people.
The entire museum?
The entire museum.
First to four, four.
My gosh, how many times have y'all thrown this?
It's been about, well, I've only been here for four years, so it's
been going for four years, and then before me, it was still going.
It's one of our biggest parties, our biggest event.
So what can people expect from you?
Well, everyone comes in costume all the time.
You better show up in costume.
A hundred percent, yes.
And then we have food vendors out in the sundial,
which whenever you can come in and out of the museum and have tacos,
burgers, whatever you want.
Hell yeah.
and then we have cash bars all throughout
the museum anywhere um and then we have djs and a
live band and people it's just fun
and then we have activities for our VIP areas and VIP lounging
yeah so this is the place to be on Halloween yes okay
so how do we where do people go to get tickets
you can go to hmns.org slash mixers
because you guys have mixers year round yes we do we have
a Halloween mixer an autumn attraction
and then we have summer mixers a New Year's Eve
and of course Christmas holiday
so you come you eat you drink you dance and you get a cool
view of after hours look at the museum yes absolutely
and it's a 21 and up event so so
the kids got to stay home yes go trick-or-treating between like six
and seven and then yeah yeah and
then come over and then come over to the party all right well
y'all know where to find me on
on Halloween, baby.
Get the tickets, hmns.org slash mixers.
We'll be right back.
Let's go.

Halloween
season, we're
talking about-
Welcome back
to Meow World.
I love it here, but you guys do events all year round, but
we're talking about spooky season, and y'all got quiet.
I mean, Halloween is our time of year.
I mean, everything inside this place
is pretty Halloween coded already, but
we always have something exciting coming to Meow World.
So this year, we have a lot of different
Halloween activities happening.
On October 23rd, we have a very exciting adult night, or adultiverse.
Oh, adult night.
Okay, listen up, nightcapers.
Yes, keep the kids at home.
Come by, and we have a cool Halloween drag show happening
with Queen Persephone
and a bunch of other local acts as well.
Okay.
After that, the next day on the 24th, thank you so much.
After that, on the 24th,
we actually have a trick-or-treating for the family.
so they can come to the exhibition get some candy across
our entire many dimensions and so this is a
fun way like if you've got plans you know halloween night
to go around the neighborhood you can
actually keep the party going
or start the party early yeah on the 24th bring the kids for a nice
indoor you know enclosed area yeah keep it safe keep it cool
and run around and just see a whole
different world and universe while you're getting
some candy which i feel like is a pretty cool
and then of course
on october 30th we have our tarot bingo
so for people that kind of want to
to see into the future, maybe win a prize or two.
They might just get a little lucky
at our Tarot Bingo on October 30th.
Okay.
And then our big event is on October 31st,
our Cosmic Cow.
So on Halloween.
Yeah, on
Halloween,
we have the
Cosmic Cow.
DJs, costume characters, they even have
a huge Halloween patch where people will be able
to dress up in their costumes and run around this exhibition.
Okay, wait, does somebody win for best costume?
We're gonna have some prizes for some
of our favorite costumes, for sure.
Yeah, you do not wanna miss it.
So do they have to get reservations in advance,
or can they just show up in their costumes?
I mean, the best thing about Meow Wolf Houston
is that all you need to do is go to our website,
meowwolf.com/houston,
and just book a ticket for the day that you want to come.
So the exhibition entry includes all the fun events
that were going on inside the exhibition itself,
so you won't miss out on any of it.
Amazing. Yeah, yeah.
Okay, but is the whole place open?
Yeah, the whole exhibition will be open.
So we can get lost, trick or treat.
Lots of time to have a good time.
Lots of McAllen.
Yeah, yeah, sounds like how I'd about.
All right, well, you already know where to be.
Meow Wolf, baby.
Cheers.

The Nightcap, we've been talking about various things you can do to
spooky season and spook you out a little bit more.
And I'm back in studio now because there's actually a new series that's
based out of Houston that's out, it's called Tail and Bone.
Just
watch
that.
All right, we've got the cast and crew here in the building.
All right, one of the actresses, we've got Miasha White.
Welcome to the Nightcap.
Great.
Next to you, we've got Mark Christian,
another actor, and stuntman on the series.
Hi, how are you doing?
Great!
And we've got director Danielle Magoo, and co-director,
which I didn't know he was into directing,
D. Ben Jackson.
And yes, he asked me to say the V.
You know,
On the V, Ben Jackson.
Okay, I'm going to start with you, Danielle, as director of this.
So what exactly is Tales and Bones about?
Yeah, so it's a TV horror series, okay?
Full of psycho thrillers, six episodes.
They're about 20 minutes each,
and each episode has a very scary, dark undertone to it.
I don't want to give too much away.
The first EP is Dark Princess,
and it ends with the sixth EP, which is The Cannibal.
So if you're the type of person who's not into horror,
I do not advise you to watch it.
Still watch it.
Definitely for horror fans.
Yeah.
Okay, so is it a storyline that follows throughout every episode,
or is each one its own thing?
Each episode is vastly different.
Oh, okay.
Okay, and your co-director is D. Ben Jackson.
We're very familiar with you on the show.
I know you as a comedian, baby.
I didn't know you went to this horror stuff.
So how did you get involved?
I saw her post saying that she, you know, wanted some help on it.
I jumped in, I messaged her, we talked,
and she kind of, like, right off the rip,
was like, all right, let's go.
She sent me a script, and we just started working.
started working. So I was just going to be like directing.
I never had no idea that I was going
to do any writing, even though I do write a lot of different things.
And then she got me, I wrote
one. I was like, if you need one, I got one.
And then she was like, oh, I like that one. And that
was the one with me also in it.
And my boy Johnson, and just the one, he looks, he's like
six five so he was he fit the mold scary yes okay
I'm Neosha over here like yeah yeah he's big and
bald all right so Neosha and Mark you you are actors
and you're also a stuntman um what was
it like entering this horror space
so for me coming from like you know being a model is how
I even did was actually through comedy
and modeling years ago whatever this was completely
different okay I actually was expecting comedy
but as I continued to read the script I was like
Oh, okay.
So Ben reached out to you?
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
So you were expecting,
like I expected this to be horror because we know you, Ben
Jackson.
You're a funny man.
Yes.
Okay.
So, wow.
What a curve ball.
So as I'm reading the script, I'm like,
I wanted to know what was going to happen, but
it was fun.
I learned a lot.
I would totally do it again, but my character,
I think everyone's going to be quite interested.
Okay.
All right.
Mark, you ain't new to this.
You're true to this.
the westerns and all that. So what drew you to Danielle's project?
Basically just starting out with Danielle when it was at its infancy,
when the project was kind of going a different direction at that point,
becoming in as a vampire,
chasing people in the forest and stuff like that.
And when she restructured this and wanted to keep me on board
or see if I was interested to stay on board,
I looked through everything
everything and I was like, yeah sure I'll do it.
I end up playing the gatekeeper in this project.
Jesus man,
you scared the out of me the first time I met him.
Okay Danielle, for people at home
who are into horror or they're just curious,
like I know you have a premiere coming out, give us the details.
Yeah, so the movie premiere will be held
at the AMC Katy Mills Theater on October the 17th.
Start time will be 4 p.m., and we'll end it out at 7 p.m.
So that's next Saturday.
Ooh, they better show up and show out.
All right, but after that, where can they watch all of the episodes?
So we're waiting.
We're waiting for a title approval.
It's a process.
It's going to take at least six weeks, and then once we know that,
we'll make sure to let everyone know,
and we'll update the episodes with those details.
Okay, awesome.
Well, you already know what to do.
October 17th, AMC Theater at Katie Mills' Tail and Bones.
It's the start of Season 1.
All right, I hope you enjoyed this spooky episode.
We'll
see
you
guys
next
time.
