Woodbury resident's 'Bob's World' celebrates found family

A young artist from Woodbury is hoping to bring more diverse voices to animation. Wisdom Nunn is a member of a band, None Above, it's called, with his brother and his sisters. But in tonight's Voices for Change, Maury Glover shows us the 21-year-old is also drawing a different kind of inspiration from his family ties. As the drummer for the band None Above with his siblings, Wisdom Nunn knows all about family. Now he's taking his artistic expression to a whole new world. It really is a dream, and I don't think I kind of talk about it enough. The robots didn't have any crystals on them? That could work. Explain. Wisdom is the creator of Bob's World, an animated series on YouTube about a pair of teenaged bunnies who are looking for their lost parents and the family of friends they find along the way. And this was my brother's Bennett, and this is Bob. Wisdom says the series was inspired by two stuffed animals he and his brother made when they were little. And after he taught himself animation, he decided to turn their imaginary adventures into a show. Family is your friends. Family is, like, people that you confide in, people that you can talk to. And I think, like, family isn't just blood. So far, Wisdom has completed four episodes, but each one can take anywhere from eight months to two years to finish. And like his band, Bob's World is a family affair with his brother and sisters helping write, voice and score the series. It's such a wild culmination of things to come together. And it just it warms my heart. I think that's great. I just wanted to come get checked out. I took a pretty bad fall yesterday. Bob's World is up for a regional Emmy this year. But Wisdom says getting to illustrate the importance of found family means he's already won. I love that the show is about community and family. That's a big theme in my life that I hold very dearly, and I can't wait to see what comes next with it. Wisdom hopes to complete six more episodes of Bob's World, but at his current rate, he says it'll probably take a few years. In Woodbury, Maury Glover, Fox 9.
