This Is EXACTLY the Spark the Vikings Absolutely NEEDED...

This is exactly the spark the Vikings needed to not only carry momentum into the bye week off a dominant win against the New Orleans Saints, but to also prove to everyone that this offense is finally finding its stride after some incredible game performances. We're going to break it down all of that in this episode of Vikings Digest, but first, earlier in the week, we asked you guys to get us to 4,500 subscribers. You guys did that, and then we posed the challenge of helping us eclipse Bears Digest and subscriber counts and you guys crushed it with getting us past that point as we are so close to hitting 5,000 subscribers so if you're part of the 90% of viewers who are new to the channel or you're not yet subscribed you want to stay up to date on all things Vikings make sure to hit that subscribe button and the bell icon so you don't miss any of the episodes when they drop and with that let's get right into it folks which is the Vikings dominated the New Orleans Saints today as it was a beautiful week five win for the Vikings to go into the bye-week undefeated I know all of us are having the 2016 flashbacks right now but we're going to not think about that right now and just focus on the Vikings getting an absolutely dominant win and I was so happy watching this game I mean I wasn't happy in the sense that I have Tyler Shook as my fantasy quarterback this week because Lamar Jackson's hurt so he had to step in and I knew that he was going to be in for a rough day and I knew my fantasy team was going to take a big dip this week because Tyler Shook was going up against a Brian Flores defense that was absolutely lights out we're going to get to that in a second but overall this was a great game from everyone involved the offense was clicking the defense was just doing their job Will Reichardt you know he's going to do his part but Kyler Murray was absolutely fantastic in this game he was 24 for 30 229 yards and one passing touchdown he had 51 rushing yards as well and we started seeing flashes of what the old Kyler Murray was where he's running the ball he's throwing it into tight windows that touchdown pass he had to Justin Jefferson was absolutely incredible the pass along the sidelines was a perfect placement and both of them were in perfect tight coverage and he threaded it right in there he hit Ty Fulton for a really good hitter as well and we started seeing a little bit more of that prime Kyler Murray that we saw in Arizona that one offensive rookie of the year as now he's starting to get settled in a little bit more to this offense and they are really starting to get things clicking as even as I said on the broadcast Drew Brees was saying that this Vikings offense can play like this even more or get even better watch out for the Minnesota Vikings because they are going to be a team that is absolutely dominant someone else who was dominant that had an absolutely gutsy win was Aaron Jones as he fought through an early knee injury where he left the game for a little bit and came back with a hefty knee brace on and he rushed for 113 yards a touchdown off of 25 touches and had a three receptions only four yards but still had his longest yard being of 19 yards so that was awesome for him to get a long yard a long run in there and as well as them toting on him as a bell cow even after the injury I mean it goes to show that Kevin O'Connell clearly has no faith in DJ Dallas with DeMond Claiborne right now so I think I'm ready to kind of give up hope on DeMond Claiborne being the future running back one of this team because even when Aaron Jones came back into the game I was wondering why were they just giving him so many touches after he came back with sporting a knee brace but they didn't care they kept feeding him the rock and he was efficient with it and it was absolutely great to see him just getting involved and getting all those touches and getting into the end zone because he scored a nice touchdown that added to his great stats so far since his time in Minnesota as well but with his eight yard touchdown run his 75th career touchdown with 54 receiving and 21 rushing and 21 receiving became the sixth active running back to record at least 75 total touchdowns and as well as Justin Jefferson who was cleared to play today he also had a 15 yard touchdown reception 45 career receiving touchdowns tied Sammy White and Anthony Carter for the second most receiving touchdowns by a Vikings player in their first seven seasons and as far as Justin Jefferson's day he also had a really nice day i gotta say he had a phenomenal catch i gotta say in that back of the end zone and as well as on the sidelines he was magnificent i mean he's always going to be magnificent it's Justin Jefferson for crying out loud you know he's going to show up and do his job whether he's 100 or 70 he was out there and he was great another person who was great was on the defensive side of the ball and that was Byron Murphy who got a lot of flack this year for how he was kind of like underperforming in coverage and things like that but one thing that Byron Murphy is able to do is get interceptions and That is why we have him in Minnesota. And he had two today on top of three tackles with all of them being solos and one of them being a TFL as well as a pass defended. So he also had a really good game as well to add on to his further great stats as far as interceptions are concerned with it also being disclosed during the game that since joining the Vikings, he's recorded at least 13 interceptions. Now it is 14 and the second most among that span during the time in Minnesota as well as with Derek Stingley having 14 but now he is tied with Derek Stingley as he got his 14th one in his time since uh since 2023 and it just goes to show that the Brian Flores defense does not care about anybody because he's an absolute psycho they made Tyler Shuck look like a complete rookie today where he only had 94 passing yards he threw two picks they brought the pressure Andrew Van Ginkle had a great sack as well and Josh Patel who we've given a lot of flack this year for giving up big plays had a huge tackle on a fourth and seven early on in the fourth quarter when the Vikings were only up by a touchdown and it helped completely shift the momentum back for the Vikings offense to go out there and have an absolutely great game so it was awesome to watch on all fronts of course Will Wrighter continuing his consecutive streak i don't want to speak out too much they don't want to jinx anything but you guys know we all know Will Righter MVP of this team without him we might not want to might not have won this game we were able to get two touchdowns which was awesome finally got to get back into the end zone that felt really good especially Jadda's getting a touchdown at home in Louisiana so that was really cool for him to have that experience and get to gritty in the end zone in the Superdome and it was awesome to hear the SKOL chants later in the second half where you could tell that this Minnesota Vikings fan base is either everywhere or traveling to anywhere they can be I mean we know the Vikings fan base is everywhere because i'm in Windsor Ontario Canada right across from Detroit in the heart of Detroit Lions country and i'm a Vikings fan there's a couple of us in this city as well but we've seen how the Vikings fan base reaches so far and beyond and we've seen that where how they showed up in Tampa Bay how they showed up in New Orleans today as well and so many other occasions even when they play overseas in the UK that fan base shows up and shows out and they absolutely love the Minnesota Vikings especially when they are winning football games and this was one of those games where you cannot have any major criticisms really early on in the first half Kyler Murray was 11 for 11 I know a lot of people say well the ball wasn't traveling very far but you can see he was going through his reads he was going he was looking very good and then TJ Hawkins unfortunately goes down that was the only nitpick or only critique you could have of this game but that wasn't something that was something controllable on the Vikings side from the self-inflicted penalties which I do want to see them limit because it did take away some opportunities however they limited them a lot more this game compared to last game so even though they had a couple missteps they still cleaned it up a lot more so it was a very gutsy game by the Minnesota Vikings that was also a dominant game Aaron Jones fighting through that injury like he consistently does every single week where he's banged up but he doesn't care he's gonna fight through it and make sure that he can help contribute to this team came out with an e-brace again absolutely love to see him just fight through put the effort forward for the boys then the defense Blake Cashman was awesome Andrew Van Ginkel was great there were so many standouts in this game that you could say that it was an all-around team effort where it was complimentary football the offense was helping out the defense the defense was helping out the offense real well Will Reichard was doing his thing Miles Price did have that fumble which i know a lot of fans are going to jump on him for but we can't jump on him too much because he's so good in special teams and we know he's not a wide receiver typically he was only stepping in because Jordan Addison and Odell Beckham Jr were inactive for this game so again that was a that was a little bit that was another kind of misstep within the game but it's something that you can kind of forgive considering the circumstances and how we ended up winning the game anyways but we know that we won't see that happen very uh very often in the future because Miles Price is a returner rather than a receiver but let us know your guys's thoughts on the game down in the comments below what stood out to you the most do you have confidence now with Kyler Murray coming out of the bye week with a healthier team we need Jordan Mason back to take the load off Aaron Jones for sure also having Jordan Addison back and so many others Christian Darius possibly as well and now he's starting to look a little bit more comfortable in this offense let me know if you guys agree with that or not as that's going to do it for this episode of Vikings Digest thank you guys again so much for watching liking subscribing you guys have been absolutely crushing it lately and i have you guys to thank for
