This is the SPARK Pittsburgh needed...
Oct 15, 2026
This is the spark Pittsburgh needed
as Sidney Crosby finally ends his goalless drought
with a goal in last night's loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
In this video, we're going to break down how
this is the spark that this team needed going
forward and how they can carry this momentum
into their next game and try to get a win.
So we're going to break down everything about last night's game,
what went wrong, what needs
to be fixed, talk about Crosby being the spark this team needed,
seeing him get on the goal
sheet is the factor for them going forward to to have some more success
so you're not going to

that subscribe button it is completely free
to do so but yes today we are back talking about the
Pittsburgh Penguins as unfortunately it
was a devastating loss against the Chicago Blackhawks
in Connor McDavid's return last night it was a win
that we were hoping that we could go out and
get and just carry some momentum forward
into some tough tests that we do have ahead but there
was some bright sides out of this game
and one of them was Sid the Kid coming back scoring a goal
which is great to see getting his first of the year
and ending his drought over the last 28 games
where he only scored three goals he gets two last night
and was really the bright spot of this team
last night as you see here Sidney Crosby breaks his goal drought
which is great to see and we see
Chicago now we see them they beat us obviously
for five to three last night they beat us five to
three in a in a devastating loss was a game
that we expected going in that we would win and we
wanted to win but unfortunately the the didn't roll
in our favor last night and you know we do
lose this game but like I said the big thing coming out
of this game was Crosby scoring two
goals we see him getting two goals last night in the loss
but you know in a game in you know the
beginning of the season where you know the bottom six has
been really producing a lot of the offense
now the big guy in Crosby starts producing
and the bottom six falls off we need to level it out
right we need to see the offense coming from both sides of the lineup
and unfortunately we didn't
get to see that last night but Crosby had
a great game two goals on the board but I'm sure he don't
really care about that he'd rather just you know win the game
and not have any goals but that's
just the way Sidney Crosby is and over
his last seven games you see here no goals to start the
season then he finally gets two last night to make up for it
which is great to see so hopefully
going forward now he you know he's got it off
his shoulder that he scored one and now we can just
keep the goals flowing through Sidney Crosby here great
to see him get his first one just gives him
a little bit of confidence for sure
and if we just kind of see here Sidney Crosby gets a gets on the
board for his first of the year he was looking off Raquel
then the whole way he buried the shot
far side so that was a great great goal there
by the captain on nice feed by Erik Carlson and
And Erik Carlson has really been a great piece for this team this year.
He's been playing so good this year.
And I think he's playing himself into a potential trade deadline trade,
to be honest with you guys.
If we can't get it going here and,
you know, get up in this Metro Division,
I think we'll be seeing a lot of our older
guys shipped off here at the deadline.
But I'm not counting them out yet.
I definitely think we can still get there.
You know, we just need to put some things together.
We see here, you know, Crosby ends his drought.
Crosby ties it again 3-3.
And then Tavares breaks the tie and scores the game-winning goal 4-3.
And then the empty netter seals it for this team.
So, you know, 5-3.
You know, it sucks to see us lose that game against Chicago,
not against Pittsburgh.
But, yeah, you know, it does suck to see that.
And we kind of would want to see that win for us
as we got some tough competition coming up.
But who knows?
You know, maybe we can knock off one of these top teams.
I definitely have faith in this team.
And now that Crosby's back on the board,
I definitely think I have a lot more faith in this team for sure.
And if we just kind of look, Pittsburgh must fix its power play.
That's one thing that has been glaringly bad this season for this team.
It has been their special teams.
16.7% on the power play just isn't going to cut it.
You need to get that number up with all
the talent that you do have on that power play.
You want to see more points being generated,
more goals being generated.
And hopefully we can get that going as we kind of just look at,
you know, the top power play unit.
They don't have any goals when all of them have been on the ice,
which is pretty glaringly bad, to be honest with you guys.
And, you know, you see here, they've had zero goals,
but the whole power play as a whole has had two goals.
So, you know, none of these guys,
when all of them have been out there, have scored a goal.
So hopefully we can fix that, get something better going.
But Eric Carlson has, like I said, been a key piece of this power play.
He was just absolutely teeing it off
for most of the Penguins power plays.
He had at least 10 shot attempts.
That was from Pens' inside scoop.
So, you know, Eric Carlson has been doing his thing
and just trying to create some offense here
from the blue line on this power play.
Just putting shots on, waiting for tips,
and getting stuff out in front.
But the power play just isn't converting.
But we need to work on this more in practice.
We need Dan Mews to kind of maybe shift up
the power play or something to do.
Give it a little shake up so that these guys can get going
and get a few power play goals.
When you get the extra man advantage,
you know, not scoring on the power play
could win or lose you games, depending on certain games you're playing.
So hopefully we can get these numbers up
and see more power play goals flowing here in Pittsburgh.
And we see here now, this will help Crosby's momentum translate
as he enters the zone possessions,
recover loose pucks after shots,
and move the puck with a scoring purpose.
Just this is kind of the way to, you know, fix this power play.
Just, you know, move the puck more.
Like, try to find, you know, try to see what's going to happen.
try to see all the chess pieces move
and see where people are going to end up and then those goals
will start going in so we just need to see
that maybe they just need to work on it more have more
time as a unit but i definitely think
that this power play will get better i just need some time
but obviously we saw Miroshov facing
a costly lesson last night uh having his bad his
first bad start all of this season uh
and yeah you know we see here only 15 saves .789 uh save
percentage but a lot of these goals
were not his fault i know it was a tough to see him maybe
finished with these numbers
but you know i still got a lot of faith in Miroshov and i do think that
he is a great goaltender you know just you're just
gonna have bad games right and this just was a bad
game i see here by you know his other starts at a .914 uh
then he had a .956 just having great
games and now you know obviously putting up that .789 not good to see
and then a late goal kind
of hurts this team uh side scores too was about
the only positive thing is what Josh Hill said for
the Penguins this evening, Mearsoff was uh
with a terrible play on the game winner but i can't say
the Penguins deserve to win this one since Mearsoff mishandles
the game the game winner from
Tiravainen and it goes in the back of the net
and ultimately we do lose because of this but
this is a learning moment for this young guy you gotta remember
this guy's only young we can't just
go in go after him right away
and he needs to grow uh be a better goaltender and making these
mistakes unfortunately it's costing us a game here
but these are mistakes he won't make going
forward, and it's just a lesson that he has to learn,
and unfortunately, like I said, it does
lose us this game, but I know that's it,
but Malkin, you know, kind of picks him up here. He
says he played unbelievable tonight, too.
He played really good, like one mistake, but it's fine. We
need to support him. Everybody has mistakes.
He's a good goalie, just first year. You're a little
bit nervous, maybe, so Malkin just saying, yeah,
he made a mistake, but everybody makes mistakes.
We just got to lift him up, you know, not let him,
you know, dwell on this too much, because he
He played good tonight, too.
He made some good saves.
So, a lot of people are going to look on the glaringly bad things,
but he did look good.
Like, I don't want to rip on Mearsoff here because, yeah,
he made a mistake.
He's a young kid.
He's going to make mistakes.
And, you know, that's how they learn,
and that's how they become better goaltenders.
And I'm sure Mearsoff, when he gets
a chance to get in for his next start,
he will lock in and, you know,
get back to the goaltender that we've seen earlier in this season.
It's just a bad game.
Everybody has a bad game, guys.
Across an 84-game season, not everybody's going to be perfect.
That's for sure.
But let's just kind of keep going here
with Pittsburgh must build on Crosby's spark going forward.
Like I said, this could be the spark
that could really ignite them going forward here.
We see from Sidney Crosby here on this quote.
He says, I wasn't our best,
but I think we did enough to be in the game.
You don't play hockey that way, though.
I mean, you've got to play the right way or you leave it up to chance.
And that's what happened tonight.
You kind of just got to do the right things, try to win the game.
And, you know, obviously it wasn't the way it didn't roll
their way last night and they didn't do enough.
so next game they gotta go out put a little bit more effort
in and try to close out a game like
this as we see here the record when leading they're two
and one when tied this is what going
to overtime uh they're one and oh and then
when they're trailing they're oh two and one so whenever
they trail in a game they do lose it at this point
so we need to go out there score first right we
need to score the first goal
and and we will probably win this win a game so hopefully going
into next game uh we can see them uh obviously
you know take take control here and try to do
something and try to score first and win the game
and as we see here pittsburgh is still third in
the metro right now seven points as the rangers
and carolina have been unbelievable here to start
the year so we're still third in the metro we're still
in the playoff spot at this point there's
still a lot of time to turn around
and like i said crosby is a spark that we needed going forward
and you see damn you saying it's disappointing you walk
in uh we want to be stacking games
together like a lot about our dallas game
but now we had to look at this, address it, correct it
and we're going to move on like you just say yeah we're just going
to learn from this, these mistakes
that we made and go into the next couple of games
on the road trip that we need to win right like
these are tough games guys like we got the Avalanche
and the Golden Knights and the Mammoth
were the first in the Central right now
then we're going up against the Panthers who had a big game
last night so the next four games are against big big opponents
and if we can you know go into this
road trip now or even you know yeah go into this road trip
and then obviously the first game back
at home against the Panthers and we can split this two
and two i'd be happy with that because
this is our tough competition if we can prove
that we can beat two of the best competitions in the
in the league i'm fine with it i take two losses
to that obviously i'd like to see them go four and zero
oh but i'm being realistic here i think two
and two uh is what i would go with so hopefully we
can see that going forward hopefully we can fix these mistakes
and go into the next game against
the Avalanche uh and try to take it right on the road
so hopefully we can do that and now we can
see can uh Crosby's a breakthrough spark uh
Pittsburgh let me know what you guys are thinking
yes i think the captain is going to help drive
this team now that he's got some goals on the
board uh only if the power play improves do you think
if the power play improves that's the only
way we're going to win these next couple of games
on the road or do you think the structure and
goaltending needs to uh you know kind
of be be better uh for us to win games let me know down
below what you guys are thinking
