With Landon back and having shuffled some of the guys,
are you feeling like there's hope
with straightening out this offensive line
because it hasn't gotten going other than
some time against USC over six games?
Yeah, I think, well,
I think it's unfair to the offensive line in a lot of ways
because the way we're defining straightening out the offensive line
would be saying, you know,
running the ball better or taking less sacks.
and i would say that a lot of the play that's affected
the offensive line is the other position
groups along with the offensive line i don't know
of any elite offensive line that's playing
with a set of running backs that have never carried
the ball before um i don't think that
the offensive line going into this season there
was any expectation that they were going to
be blocking for a true freshman every snap
that's still learning the track of each different zone
play or learning the reads I think in terms
of protections it's unfair to the offensive line in
a lot of ways that they're getting kind
of crushed regarding some of the sacks when sometimes we're
sitting back there holding the ball for five seconds four
and a half seconds you know there's
parts of it that running back or tight end might have responsibility
and protection and they haven't
been able to they haven't done their job
in a certain play um i think there's times that as a
play caller i need to do a better job of helping
the offensive line um against certain defense uh
defensive players and defensive fronts
and defensive looks so i would say um it's an
unfair attack in a lot of ways on these guys and i feel for them
