That's the puzzle in 2026, but I'm curious,
like you said a couple years ago, you'd love
to walk onto Starbucks Field and a Costco's Arena
and leverage what you have here, and
that was two years ago, and I'm curious,
has that been more difficult than you anticipated
in terms of really being able to tap into the resources here?
How would you assess how that's going to work?
Yeah, well, I would say this,
I think two years ago when I said that, I absolutely felt
that you know you have to by being here now two
to three years you learn about what type of you
know investments we're getting from all those companies
and are we really able to tap into
those resources right now i mean it's it's public knowledge
that our roster is not very high on the
cost scale so we have to find a way
if this Protect College Sports Act passes and we're
able to have an influx of money to be able
to have retention that will help Washington a lot
because that will have to come from the university side
our third party dollars aren't there so we
have to find a way last year we had seven guys drafted
to replace the seven guys drafted we
needed to use our freshmen because we didn't have
the finances to go replace them through the portal
so because of that we now need our freshmen our sophomores to stay
and to do that then we'll be
able to get back to where we want it
to be speaking on conversations with Demon about his future here
and beyond this season no i haven't had
that conversation with anyone on our team
we've not talked at all about um our players choosing
to um start talking about contracts
no i don't think we want to we're not there yet we have
to figure out financially what we have to
offer we have to figure out what the rules
are and then we'll have to decide what we can do for
for the team
Thank
you.
