Mother’s Day Mayhem 💐 | When Dementia Has Other Plans

Today was supposed to be a beautiful Mother's Day outing with all Mama's girls— but dementia had other plans. 💐💜

I went to pick Mama up from the facility so we could go out to meet my sisters and celebrate together. But the moment I arrived, it was mayhem. Mama was walking nonstop, wouldn’t listen, and was completely off the chain. I had to make the tough call to leave her there for her safety (and my sanity)... and came back later with my sisters and dessert in hand.

I got to the restaurant and my sisters were like: YOU ARE ALONE? LMAO

This is the reality of dementia caregiving: unpredictable, emotional, and full of moments that don’t go as planned. But love doesn’t stop — even when the plans do.
