A Daughter’s Love: Visiting My Mom With Dementia to Make Sure She Eats

On this day, I stopped by my mom’s memory care facility to make sure she had a good meal and was being properly cared for. As a caregiver and daughter, it’s so important to me that she feels loved, nourished, and supported — even on days when dementia makes things more challenging. 💜

During meal time, I understand that staff are responsible for many residents. I fully support overworked staff members. Mama is a walker and sometimes it is hard getting her to sit. That's when I step in. I am there to make sure she gets a full belly!
