Welcome to the TMZ podcast.
Devin here with Netta for the first time.
That's our first time.
It's our first.
It's our first time together.
It's going to be weird.
Wow. You think so?
Well, we're off to a great start, guys.
We're off to an awesome start.
In a good way.
I was going into it thinking this is going to go great.
Wait, what's your sign again?
Oh, you're one of those.
Yeah, this is not going well.
Cancer.
I'm a cancer.
Is that going to go great?
OK. All right.
We're back on track.
OK, so we're going to get into
the Lindsay Clancy trial.
The holdout juror finally spoke out.
This was obviously the person who caused the whole trial
to go into a mistrial.
So it's interesting because obviously
some of the other jurors have spoke out about this person.
Now they're speaking out on their behalf.
So we'll get into that.
Lady Gaga, she kept her pregnancy
slash baby under wraps for months.
And now we have a bunch of details about the kid's name.
If boy or girl, all that good stuff.
Is it goo goo gaga?
It is not. Oh, that would have been good.
Goo goo gaga.
I actually kind of like that.
I like that.
She made a mistake.
And lastly, Miley Cyrus had her.
Are you a Miley Cyrus fan?
Yeah, I knew you were.
I had a feeling you were a Miley Cyrus fan.
I like very limited people in Hollywood.
And Miley is one of them.
So she oh, she's awesome.
So she had her album review.
So it's not out, right?
The album album is out.
Oh, it is out. OK, cool.
So she had her album party last night.
So we'll get into all the celebrities and action at that.
Sound good. Such a good album.
Oh, you've already listened to it.
Not all of it. Oh, OK.
I was going to. But I just know it's good.
Oh, yeah. I don't even have to listen.
I'm sure it's great.
OK, so the Lindsay Clancy trial, this holdout juror,
like I was saying, caused the whole mistrial.
And now Michael Desronville is coming forward.
So he was the lone holdout and saying basically defending himself,
saying that he had no reasonable doubt about her guilt.
So I believe.
Are you a reader or not a reader?
I'm a reader. OK, perfect.
Well, I'll let you read his full statement.
Oh, OK. Yeah.
So here's his statement.
He he goes, I didn't have any doubts as I tried to explain
different possible theories during deliberation.
I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence presented.
Seems like there was a lot of
conflict between the jurors.
Well, between him and the other 11, because then he said,
based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses and what the prosecution
presented, I thought it was enough proof that she, meaning Clancy,
knew exactly what she was doing and planned.
So it's basically he's just defending himself
because all these other jurors were saying that he admitted
that he had reasonable doubt because they've been doing interviews
and basically saying that they that they were all, you know,
in unison, the other 11 and that he was not.
So, yeah, I mean, that's basically the gist of it.
It's interesting, I guess.
You know, he has I he hasn't done an on camera interview.
I imagine he will eventually.
But that was just his statement.
I guess he spoke to who was this other guy?
Ray Marcell, a fugitive TV, spoke to some other guy
who then did some interviews, but that was off camera.
He also has a lawyer now, which is interesting.
I don't know why.
Did all of this cause the mistrial?
Like, did he? Yeah.
Yeah, because because the 11 other people agreed that that she was not
he was the only one who felt like she was guilty.
So did he kind of get what he wanted?
Like, is it good?
I mean, he stood by what he believed is what he's saying.
And if that's what you believe, then I guess you shouldn't be swayed
just because 11 of the other people.
But that's just that's our justice system, I guess.
So interesting. I know.
OK, we will be moving on to Lady Gaga. Yes.
I would imagine you're a huge Lady Gaga fan.
The gays love Lady Gaga. Yes, I'm very familiar with that.
So, yeah. So Lady Gaga and Michael Polanski,
they're I think they're fiancés, but she's so secretive about everything.
Like she could be married. I don't know.
Yeah, we had no idea she was going to pop out with a kid. Right.
And so the reason I think we didn't have any idea was because we found out
it was through surrogate.
So she was never obviously it's hard for even celebrities
who are trying to be like, I'm going to keep all this private.
Well, it's like, well, we see you and you're pregnant.
Yeah. Your belly is very big right now.
So that's one key.
And then the other thing, it's just crazy how long
because the photos came out over the weekend of her holding the baby.
And it turns out the baby was born on June 9th.
So they kept it under wraps for about three months.
Wow. I didn't know. Yeah.
June 9th. Wow. Mm hmm.
So that's a while ago.
And the full legal name is Rose Bean Polanski.
How do you feel? What?
Rose Bean?
I like, I kind of liked it.
You like the name? I just thought I thought you would not date
someone named Rose Bean Ro.
Well, you don't usually it's it's her middle name.
So Rose Polanski.
I mean, that's kind of like I think that's a good name.
No, I can't get over the bean part.
Yeah, I guess the bean is because of Carl Bean, who is like a huge
LGBTQ activist, and that's who she like wrote Born This Way,
I think was inspired by or something.
So, OK, now you're cool with it.
Actually, yeah, I figure like now you would be cool with it
once you get the background for the gays. Exactly.
OK, fine. And Rose, I think she has a rose tattoo.
She has a lot of tattoos, but I guess she has a rose tattoo.
And it was like a song and a star is born.
So, yeah, yeah.
It's it's kind of sad for the gays, actually, that she has a kid now.
Why? It's very sad.
I think that's why she was hiding it, actually.
Oh, I doubt that.
She was like worried her fans were going to freak out
because we are kind of freaking out.
So wait, gays don't want their like icons to have kids.
She's our mother.
So now that so now Rose Bean is your sister.
No, that's like your sister now.
Nope. You're not going to give all her attention and love to Rose.
You guys are crazy.
I've been like really sad.
Yeah. Well, I'm sorry for your loss.
It's OK. Your mom's gone.
All right. Moving on.
Your mom's gone. She's gone forever.
Miley Cyrus.
Oh, my God. I love her so much.
When's the last time she put out music?
It's been a minute, right?
Probably every like once a year.
Because does she?
Oh, so I was just listening to her last year's album.
And she just like is really good at just doing a new era every time.
But not in a quick way.
I was going to say, why is everyone do this era stuff?
Well, Miley is kind of just doing her own thing, like whatever
hyper fixation of whatever genre she has at that year.
She's like, I'm going to try this.
She's doing new things.
And it's honestly getting her to legend status.
I know that legend status. Yes.
I don't know. She's a legend.
She's like Gen Z or what's off Gen Alpha or whatever.
That's that's their like Cher and Madonna.
Really? You'll see. OK.
If you're still alive.
Oh, are you calling me old now?
How much younger? How young are you?
I'm 28.
OK, you're not that much younger than me.
Yeah, there's no way you're 28.
How old are you? Thirty four.
Oh, wow. You're younger than I thought.
Wow. Wow.
Just another absolute shot.
This isn't going well.
This is going great.
We should do this more often.
Permanent co-host, maybe?
Yeah, I like this vibe.
So so she had her album release party
and there was I saw there was tons of celebrities there coming in and out.
Looks like a good time.
I haven't like I said, I haven't listened to that's the thing about
you haven't listened to the song, the main song.
Was it already out? What song was it?
How have you not listened to the main song?
Bass Persuades.
Oh, it's so persuades.
The music is a very hard.
It's a tongue twister.
So I don't like saying, yeah, you heard me just mess it up.
I know I might mess it up, too.
But the music video is like she's dancing like Janet Jackson.
Like, oh, OK, I'm into that.
If you watch the music video, you'll understand why I said that
she is like headed towards legend status.
And she also is not going by Miley Cyrus anymore.
She's just going by Miley.
Kind of like a Cher. That's pretty cool.
I like that. That's like a boss move.
Yeah, I can just go by one name.
Like when you're just Miley, it's like because is there
there's not even another person I think of when I think of Miley.
You type in Miley on Google. Nothing else. Yeah.
And also Billy Ray Cyrus was asked, like, are you upset that she's not going by?
No, he was. I don't know if he was there this night, but he was asked.
Because I see Trish. OK, what was he saying?
He was like, are you upset?
They asked him, are you upset that she's not going to go by your last name anymore?
And he's like, no, like this is just a part of her artist journey.
And this is a good sign.
Like this is where kind of like the biggest artists are created
when they have that one name, like Cher.
For sure. I can't think of any others right now.
Cher. Prince. Prince. Yes. I got you.
So I'm telling you, this is my theory.
So, yeah, I'll listen to it.
I hate how they do album or album drops on like Friday.
And in the West Coast, it's like nine.
It's like, bro, I'm asleep.
Like, I don't have time to listen to this.
I should have listened to it on the way in, though.
Yeah. No, you should watch the music video.
She is like a stunner in it. OK.
Can't wait. It gives me like early 2000s vibes.
And she's bringing back dance.
Oh, really? She's calling out.
Oh, so this is like a dance song.
So I love dance music. That's great.
So she's actually I feel like you don't think that's great.
You seem like more of a country guy.
So I I mess with country, but I believe that. OK.
We have it done in a bad way.
Real quick. I have to go back to what you said.
You're not a fan of albums releasing on Fridays.
It didn't make sense what he said.
No, I don't like that they're released on Fridays at nine.
We get them on at the West Coast at nine o'clock.
Why is every album released at nine?
Why wouldn't they spread it out more?
Like I would like to wake up on like a Tuesday
and have like a brand new album to listen to for the week.
So if this I haven't listened to this album yet,
but it seems like it's got upbeat music.
So if you're if you're listening to music with like, oh, like Friday energy
or weekend energy and it releases on a Tuesday,
you carry it through your week to the weekend, bro.
Are you kidding me?
No, you want to go into a weekend just like this new song is awesome.
Let's pregame to it.
No, but yeah, but I know I feel that.
But it's just like when it all releases on Friday and then it's like,
what if I have to choose between Miley Cyrus and somebody else?
You'll never have to choose between Miley and someone else.
But I just want to end on this note with Miley.
I have a lot to say about her, but clearly
her album is like calling out Gen Z for not going out anymore,
for not dancing anymore.
So like the whole chorus of the song is kids don't want to dance.
Kids don't want to dance.
So she's it's a does it sound does it sound like that?
You think not as good? OK.
But it's a cultural revolution.
Cool. I love I love that message, to be honest.
So and I love Miley.
To be honest, I thought she's been awesome.
Yeah, like she has very like all of her albums are very different.
Yeah. What was that one where she was like rapping?
That was actually a pretty good album.
Is that 23? It was. No, it was old.
I don't know.
Anyways, are we doing comments today or do we not have time?
We got time for like one or two. OK, let's show the guys.
Thank you so much for joining us today.
Danny says, and I fully agree with him.
He says a Miley for Super Bowl.
Oh, my God. Yeah, I've heard that.
Oh, my goodness. It'd be amazing.
I saw dancing is amazing.
She released the album too late, though, because the Super Bowl is in February.
And it just can't, you know,
they're going to be announcing it pretty soon.
It's true.
You're saying you want to move it closer to when the Super Bowl comes out?
No, I'm saying like if she released an album in September, like usually
I guess that's five months is enough time if it's, you know, it's like traction.
Yeah. Would you rather have Miley, Justin or Harry Miley?
Me, me, me personally.
Justin. Justin is slow.
He's just slow. I don't know.
He's got some.
He already had that Coachella moment.
Like he needs which everyone hated.
And I love I love to be honest.
I thought it was awesome.
But anyways.
OK, guys. Well, Netta, I would say this is real.
I would say this is real.
No, it was great having you on.
And you just completely shitting on me.
Yeah, you're better than Branson, though.
What are you really?
Yeah.
Bar's pretty low.
I'm just kidding, guys.
All right, guys.
You guys have a great weekend.
