These Husky Nitro Work Gloves are $8 a pair. These that I got in a six-pack are $2.88 a pair.
These are the Schwerer Nitro Work Gloves, but are they any good?
Hi, I'm Mike with House on the Mend, and I've worn a lot of work gloves in my time.
I used to gravitate towards these fabric ones that were relatively inexpensive. I kept these
in my kit. In fact, the finger is completely worn out on them. But over the last maybe year or two,
I've started gravitating towards these nitro gloves because the palm area has so much more
grip. In fact, these were inside. I didn't feel like going in and getting them last week when I
was working on the truck, so I just picked these right out of my work bench right here.
And as I was trying to pick up the quick jack, this is a re-enactment,
you could see there was zero grip. It flipped right out of my hand.
So Schwerer sent me this six-pack for free for my independent review. Schwerer is German. It means
heavy or difficult, which is a pretty cool name for work gloves when you're lifting heavy things
and doing difficult work. So pretty clever. They are still made in China, by the way,
so don't be fooled by the cool German name. But are they any good? Let's start by taking
a closer look at them, and then let's put them through a week's worth of heavy tasks.
Well, these just arrived today, and it couldn't be a better time because we're changing the oil
in my wife's car. Now, as you can tell, I wear these a lot. Look how worn out they are in this
close-up. Same amount of rubber it feels like on the palm side. I do like this little bit of
shielding or padding here on the backside in case you bump into something. There's none of that here,
but then again, I don't recall ever being saved by all that. So these are very lightweight
in comparison, but they have these extra little nubbies, so let's try them out.
Nice.
So when changing out the oil filter, I was able to just screw it on and tighten it that extra
three quarters of a turn with these gloves on. Really grippy. I love it. And there we go.
All I have is that little bit of stain right there by these two knuckles. But
these did fantastic, so I'm just going to dedicate them, since they got some oil on them,
as my mechanics gloves. That way I don't have to dip into these every single time I want to do an
oil change. I especially like how responsive my cell phone is when I'm using it. Just a good
firm touch when you're trying to get to a specific button, but otherwise it works great,
especially when I'm wearing gloves and trying to catch a scene real quick on my phone.
So this terrible weld I did here once upon a time has failed,
but I have this bracket that we're gonna use to make it all better. Perfect.
Yeah. Oh, sweet babe. She likes the nubs.
Well, we're in a really rocky area here. Lots of sharp branches and things,
so I got a walking stick to help me go downhill. But I'm really glad I've got
work gloves on like this in case I have to break my fall. I won't get torn up.
Well, that was a lot, and I edited a bunch out, too. It would go on for like 30 minutes worth of
footage that I recorded, but in all that time here, if you can see, there is little to no wear
on these gloves. Pretty impressive. So I'd like to thank Schwer for sending me these gloves for
my independent review. They are excellent. They vent very well out the tops. I never once felt
overly sweaty or anything, and I had plenty of grip. And as you can see, the little nubs
are pet friendly. I'll leave a link to these gloves in the description below. So you click
on the more and it opens up the description. I'm gonna leave their website link, and I'm also
gonna leave an Amazon affiliate link in case you're more comfortable with that. Now, their website,
if you order a six pack, is the cheapest way to go. In fact, if you end up making a $20 or more
purchase, you get free shipping. So pretty impressive. Amazon, if you feel safer, is just
a little bit more money for them. They're like $3.17 or something a pair when you buy the six pack.
Now, if you click on that Amazon link, full disclosure, that is an affiliate link, so
it won't cost you a thing. But if you make any purchase once clicking that link, I do get a
small reward at the end of the month. Now, if you found this video helpful, will you please give it
a thumbs up? It's really helpful to the channel as well. Until next time, thank you for watching.
