Hi, I'm Mike with House on the Mend, and in this video we're going to be reviewing
the Latour Magnetic Light Bar. So let's get started.
Now this light bar comes in three different sizes. This happens to be the biggest one.
It has four different color patterns on the LEDs up front here, and you can dim them,
which is very cool. You charge it with USB-C, and instead of like little dots to show you the
battery life indicator, this has an actual numeric screen on it, which is fantastic. So why don't you
zoom on in, come a little closer. I'll show you all of these features, and then I'm going to show
you some of my favorite use cases. All right, here's everything that comes in the package.
You have the unit itself, which we're going to go over in detail. You have the manual,
a USB to USB-C cable, which we'll go over the multi-functions this has in a moment,
and you get four of these adhesive-backed magnets. So on this side is a little pad
with a peel-back sticker. This side is the magnet. All right, first off you can see we have four
zones here with a bunch of little LEDs in them, and I see here we have WYW. So I'm assuming white,
yellow, white for the LEDs. Next you have the USB ports. So you have a USB and a USB-C.
This USB is for outward only, meaning you can plug into here and you can charge your phone
or any other small electronic device. The USB-C is for input power, and we'll check and see if
you can also charge through the C, but it comes with its own cord for that. Pretty cool. This is
your power button. We're going to go through all the zones and the different features and stuff
in a moment. This is very cool. This little square that you see here is actually an LCD screen that
will show you the amount of battery power you have. Very quickly, on the back we have a hook
right dead center. So if you want to hang it from, say, your hood where the latch is,
or any place else where you can get this hook around, you have that, and it's pretty well
balanced. I'm sitting here holding it and it's sloping a tiny bit to one side, but it's pretty
well balanced. Then on the outside of this back you have these two spots. These are your magnets.
So they are rare earth magnets. You can click this to any, obviously, any ferrous metal object.
A lot of times you have vehicle hoods if you're wanting to work on your car. Most vehicle hoods
nowadays are made out of aluminum to save weight and they keep the heavier steel for the cage,
the crumple zone, all that kind of stuff. Obviously the frame, but if you come into that circumstance
that's where these adhesive back magnets come from. You can stick these anywhere you want
and then you have a very strong, very strong magnetized response between these two. So that
would be great if you're wanting to thunk this underneath your kitchen cabinets, or in your
workshop underneath some cabinetry, or for vehicles anywhere where you don't have a ferrous metal spot
to hook up to, you can put these little adhesive magnets. Pretty cool. Lastly, if we go to the bottom
you can see we have a threaded little insert right here. That's going to be if you want to hook this
up to a tripod or any other mount that has that kind of quarter inch standard camera mount. Before
we go any further, this is the T3 and as you can see here in the manual there are two shorter
lights with similar functionality. So this T3 is the longest and it is 40 centimeters or
just over 15 and a half, maybe 15 and three quarters inches. Next, let's try out the different
lights so you can see what that's like. Very cool. I'm going to turn off my box here
and it's pitch dark for you. I can still see in here, but that's what the camera's set to.
Nonetheless, I'm going to push that power button one time and you can see that is for the full
white. So we have the two outside whites, the inside yellow is not on at this time.
Then you can see right here 59 percent, that's the amount of power that it came shipped with.
So very cool to see the remaining percentage of power you have. Now if we press and hold
the same power button, watch as we start to dim down and then it goes off and comes back. That's
your lowest setting. Same thing when we go up, press and hold. You can see it getting brighter
and then it'll blink once showing this is your highest setting. So really cool. You have a nice
wide range of coloring. Now if you've had it on for a while and you press the button again,
it's just going to shut itself off. So if you want to get to the other functionalities,
you need to do faster clicks on the power button. So let's do two clicks now.
There you can see we have the yellow set of LEDs all the way across. So a very nice warm light.
If we do three clicks, then we get all of the LEDs. We get the white and the yellow all at
once. So this is a slightly warmer. So you have the very warm single row, you have the very cool
double rows on the outside, or you have all three going if you want. If we do four clicks,
then it goes into this red and blue strobe and it goes through a couple different iterations.
It'll do this for a while and then it just goes back and forth. So very good if you are in some
sort of emergency off on the side of the road and you really want to alert people that there
is danger ahead. Now, when you press and hold this one, nothing happens. So the system inside
is smart enough to know you're not going to want to go dull or brighter on this. It's just all
in one. All right, let's try charging from the light to a couple of electronic devices.
First of all, let's try charging my phone. My phone is a lightning. So when we plug in the
USB plug, you can see the light comes on. Now you have to hurry or it'll sense nothing and it'll
shut itself off. But as long as the lights on saying what battery percentage is left on the
device, it will fire up and charge your phone. Now let's check and see is this USB-C port the
same way. So let's wait for the light to shut off. We plug in. Nothing yet. This is my messtastic
node here. So let's plug in here and see if anything happens. Nope. It doesn't seem to
sense from that one, which would make me believe that the only output is going to be
the regular USB and the input is going to be the USB-C. Lastly, we want to test the charging,
see how long it takes. So inside there is a 7500 milliamp hour battery. That is the equivalent of
twice the battery inside of your standard iPhone, say iPhone 15. So let's go right here to the USB-C,
plug it in. Immediately we get the response of the 58% and the telltale green lightning bolt
that is flashing. That means we're charging. Let's see how long it takes. All right, 50 minutes to
bring us up to 100%. Not too bad. All right, our first use case was my daughter's barrel race with
her horse Izzy. Now by the time they get done inside the arena, it is near total darkness in
the parking lot. Good girl. Dude, you killed it. Nice job. Look here how the magnets let me get
really high with the light and it lights up not only our workspace, but the neighbors next to us.
Now here I am holding the light and you can see that tack room is basically daylight. Horses are
afraid of everything so it's really nice to be able to just magnetize inside the trailer and
light it up and Izzy wasn't afraid at all. She can't hit her head on that one because it's got
magnets and it's really slim. Nice in there, huh? Yeah. Get your booty over. Good girl. Good girl.
Well, the magnets aren't as strong as you might think on the light. I left it
right here vertically in the tack room for the drive home last night after the barrel race,
but up there it is on the ground this morning. Well, you can't see anything going on in there
without a light and most modern hoods like this Land Rover are aluminum, believe it or not,
so the magnets wouldn't work on it and that's why it's nice that it has the hook
right there so you can instantly put it in and now if you're stuck somewhere at night you've got
plenty of light. I don't even know what to say about that dim little light back here in the hatch,
but I can't see a thing so it's going to be wonderful to have this light here so that I can
get back here on a call out and grab all my gear. Now downstairs in our basement we are fortunate
enough to have plenty of lighting, but if you didn't this would be a great use case under
cabinet lighting. You can dim it down, whatever you need. You're close enough to the plug that
you wanted to just leave it there on the magnets. You could just recharge it right in place.
Huge difference. And there we go. What do you think? Leave a comment down below.
I love this little guy, especially when we go horseback riding or racing. It is so handy to
thunk these little metal pads right onto any metal surface and just get the job done at night. Now if
you found this video helpful, will you please give it a thumbs up? That's really helpful to the channel
and I appreciate everyone who does that. Also please consider subscribing. I work really hard
to turn out really good quality efficient tool reviews. There's a lot more of those to come.
I'm going to leave a link for this light bar in the description below. Now full disclosure, that
is an Amazon affiliate link, so if you click on it and end up making any purchase, it won't cost you a
thing, but I do get a small reward at the end of the month. I'd also like to thank Latour for sending
me this light bar for free for my independent review without any preconceived notions on what
I was going to say. They didn't want to see the video ahead of time or have editing rights. I deny
all of those type of reviews and I get many of those requests, but I appreciate them for just
being brave enough to send me the product and let me review it, and it's fantastic. Until next time,
thank you for watching. So it is USB chargeable. It has a little numeric pad on it.
