Hi there, traders. This is Brad Gilbert with today's trading action. All right,
now just having a look at the markets. Let me just come back to the economic calendar.
What we are seeing at the moment is the CPI numbers and the PPI numbers out of China
a little bit, I mean, as expected, or a little bit stronger. And that has really flowed into
the currencies, right? You see the Aussie, in particular, really enjoying the sunshine
heading north. The Kiwi sort of held down at this stage, but we are starting to see
sterling and euro go up, right? There's a clear dollar down situation, which is,
if I just come back to follow the trail, you know, this is the weird thing is, right,
the US Treasury is still a little bit inflated, especially the 10-year. But we are seeing the
dollar block, euro, sterling, Aussie, Kiwi up, all the dollar pairs going down, and the equities
going up, right? That's good. That's a really good sign. Gives you confidence to go into the
market. You can see the moves. I was going to say, even with just dipping your toe in the water,
that's how it looks like on the charts as well. Now, dollar-yen, as I said, they've come out,
the Japs, and said they're going to be raising interest rates every quarter till, you know,
early next year, which is only like a couple. So it's not like many, but that is something for a
country that has had, you know, low or zero interest rates for 30, 40 years. So that's where
we are. But you're looking at the board, and you're like, okay, so we've got some opportunities
here. And if I just clear a couple of trend lines, like sterling is very appealing. This is where
you come in and sort of, you'd be frothing and going, well, what have we got coming out? I either
need weak US numbers or strong sterling numbers. And just having a look through Wednesday,
it's empty. You're right. You say, you're not going to get that assistance from the economic
numbers. Let me just go low impact, see if there's anything coming up with that. No, medium,
and that's it. So basically, there's nothing to really give it a drive. Now, that doesn't mean
it doesn't go, right? That is for sure. So now, Bank of England, 87% hold. Where's that ECB?
They're 100%. The Fed hike, okay, a little bit, just a fraction lower than where it was. So
there's, you know what, when the, and this is the thing for new traders in particular,
if the pricing, they're on hold 55%. If that was to move, like even, you know, stronger, well,
then you're probably going to get a little bit more dollar weakness, okay, in the market itself.
So that's what we're going to look for. Is it what's going to impact the market over the next,
you know, 12 to 16 hours? You've got the ADP employment change. And that's, I guess it's
something. It's not, it's not like a big number, like the non-farms or anything. ECB President
Christine Lagarde is speaking later in the day. That's something to keep an eye on. Obviously,
you've got the ECB coming up Thursday. That's probably the main event. And I know this is a
US holiday, Monday. So the market is a little bit disjointed. What I'm seeing at the moment
is the equity markets sort of really found a bit of a home, you know, not really going up,
not really going down, not really going too far. What is the big story is oil heading topside,
right? Maybe that's a bit of dollar weakness in that as well. So that's what we're playing with.
It's like, we can see the moves, we can see what's happening. Is it going to follow through?
I'll tell you what, with no data, it could potentially just, the dollar could just keep
drifting lower, right? I'd be keeping a very close eye on the CAD, right? We got a trend line here.
And the beast, dollar yen, it could well follow the downside. It's probably almost time
to crank up primetime pro on that and see if we can get into a downtrend.
And that's where we are, guys. Sorry, I was just going to show you the signals. The signals sort
of give us a bit of an idea of where we should be looking. Let's clear that board. Getting an
alert there on gold. Now we are starting to see the long-term trend, not a lot of action there as
far as a lot of the major currency pairs. So just be aware of that. I would actually come back up
to the top and go into the bullish and or bearish pairs. That's actually bearish, I should say. And
I've got that mixed up. So, okay. So the Aussie CAD, Aussie Swiss, they're the ones going up.
I'll take it that someone's been messing around with the buttons. And the bearish pairs, well,
you've got a few to pick from. Obviously, a lot of the yen crosses are dominating.
I like the idea of Euro-Aussie, right? Aussie is going up, probably against Euro and sterling,
to be honest, it would be a good idea. Gold heading south, right? So we'll see how this
all plays out. It's a little bit confusing, right? Because this time around with the news,
especially out of Iran, it's been like, it hasn't been as, you know, like loads of, right? I know
there's bits and pieces going on. Iran attacks US base in Jordan, ships near Hormuz upper tank is
sunk, right? So that could be escalating, hence why oil is a little bit higher. Maybe they're
getting a bit serious before Trump pulls out. Anyway, see how it plays out from here. All right,
guys, have a good one. All the best. Cheerio.
