Brad Gilbert discusses current market conditions, emphasizing the shift toward natural flow despite fluctuating US data. He advises traders on navigating varying trading conditions, utilizing the Forex Trend Guide to isolate high-probability trades, and monitoring specific currency pairs and upcoming economic data for the end of the week.
Hi there, traders. This is Brad Gilbert
with today's Trading Action. All right. Now,
there's lots of things going on.
Trump with this midterm election stuff, right? We have not heard
boo from a ghost, right? So this is really good
because the market conditions have changed.
They're starting to flow a bit.
Even though the US numbers are a bit up and down,
we are starting to see a lot of activity across the signals.
But just keep an eye on the trading
conditions, right?
They are going from good to bad, et cetera, so forth.
Now, a lot of questions
I get from traders at the moment is, hey, Brad,
what about trading the crosses on poor trading
conditions? Absolutely it can, right?
The setup and structure for the trading conditions is based
on global markets, which is the indices markets,
the treasuries, and the US dollar, right? So if
we get poor trading conditions,
it may be a pretense to, or precursor, I should say,
to get onto the crosses
and maybe stick with those because we are getting quite a few signals
and guys are starting to cash in on those, right?
So just keep an eye on what's going on.
Now, looking at the markets, okay, the news,
okay, there's a bit of Japanese news. Really,
it's a non-event. And I know the yen
is kicking around all over the place, but
see how it went before all this happened too.
There's like a lot of inside trading there.
I'd say it's more out of the US than out of Japan.
But just looking across here,
there's not a lot going on, which is good because that
means we are starting to see a bit more of a natural flow, right?
No one's really talking about the yields, okay?
There's a bit of a risk-off profile, right?
Equity indices, now they're not going far.
They haven't gone far.
So don't expect the currencies to move a long way as well.
Kiwi's the sort of outlier there.
you've got sterling euro sterling aussie going down the kiwi going up
and the dollar going up
against just about everything else all right
so that's where we are at the moment if you look
at the charts so i just had a session there
with um Jay's tuning his charts up but the uh let me
just show you because what we've seen it's like one
of these little pockets of activity where the
market's got excited right it's good to see
the dollar come back right but it's sort of loop
running out of steam euro is the one pair
that is like almost dead set neutral it is just drifting
sideways sterling's had a bit of a crack topside now it's starting
to drift sideways i'm not i'm
not surprised coming into Friday right you've got
aussie crack topside now it's not going back down
but it's just drifting sideways kiwi the exact same thing
when you see it go sideways through
like a support line it's not like it's breaking down you can tell
this thing is like it's run
its course for right now
and that's it right something that is going to continue which sort
of is a bit hard to sort of trade at the moment dollar cad
is just going down now oil went from
108 to 100 or 98 the other day right from here to here
and we didn't see dollar cad come back
It just drifted sideways.
So dollar CAD, and there's something going on here. It's like a
big unwind, right? So dollar CAD is trending amazingly well.
Dollar Swiss, I still think
this is one of the keys. You keep an eye on the Swiss.
When it starts to move, everything sort of
kicks off, right? At the moment,
it's sort of doing the same as sort of the euro a bit, broke
down, then drifting sideways.
The beast over here, I'll tell you what, if you're looking to get a
punch in the face. Have a crack at this thing.
It is crazy, right? The dollar index sort of just
drifting as the euro is. That's where sort of the main action is.
Now, I just wanted to sort of show
you, right? A lot of you guys may not have access
to the Forex Trend Guide, but it is actually
really isolating the best trades, right?
The best instruments right now. Euro sterling is off the
charts, the best instrument to be trading at the moment,
the best trending. Then you've got Euro
Yen, selling Euro Yen, Euro CAD. They're all here.
It's in the matrix itself. So I did a video on it
the other day. You might want to get your hands on it
because this is actually really isolating
the signals. So not only are we getting signals now
that tell us what's going on, I've actually
set up the matrix score to give us a bit
of an edge around what's going on, right? To me,
anything above 50 is a fair game, right?
We're getting Euro sterling continually giving us above
80 signals, right? It's going down. They've been very good.
I'd even say above 40 is pretty good,
but we're building some stats around that.
Right now, coming into Friday, there's not a lot to be
done. You don't need to be a hero and try and hit it out of the park.
We've got UK retail sales
figures. You get a bunch of PMI numbers out of the Eurozone.
They rarely do anything, right?
And they've got some S&P numbers out of the UK.
Definitely worth having a bit of a bow peep of
those, depending on what the retail sales does.
And then you've got CAD retail sales figures there
as well. That pretty much wraps up the week, right?
Because once you get into the North American
session. We do have the University
of Michigan consumer sentiment numbers and inflation
expectations. These are not bad,
but they're at the very end of the day, right? Very hard to be
sort of trading those when most of the market's already switched off,
okay? So play it by ear to
me, I'd be looking at the CAD numbers, okay?
See what's going on there. Stronger CAD numbers goes
with that downtrend in dollar CAD, right?
You've got to sort of pick this up, right? And so that's
where we are with the overall sort of emphasis
of today uh interest rate tracker not a huge amount
um coming in there like a hike at 64 that's going
to be a misprint right the um i can't see that
just at the moment everyone's going a little bit sort
of nuts uh with the central banks um and i
think that pretty much is a bit of a wrap all right
so just keep an eye on the trading conditions
especially if you're trading the majors there
is a little bit of discombobulation there but um
other than that, things look sort of active, right?
It's like walking into a smorgasbord
at a restaurant. You've got everything to choose from.
And so keep an eye on the signals for that.
And you can actually try and piece it together
and make odds and ends of it. All right, guys,
that's it for me. Have a good Friday and a good weekend. Cheerio.
