Every year around this time,
I start to get a little impatient.
I'm tired of the heat, I'm tired of summer clothes,
and I start thinking about all the things
I haven't been able to wear for the last few months.
Sweaters, jackets, coats, actual layers.
Fall is easily my favorite season to get dressed.
Now, we're not quite there yet, but we're close.
And I've already started thinking about what I want to wear.
So that's what we're doing today.
Five outfits I'm looking forward to wearing
as we head into fall.
This video is sponsored by Quip.
I grew up in upstate New York,
so I think part of my love for fall
and colder weather in general comes from a bit of nostalgia.
And this particular sweater actually taps into that.
When I was in high school,
I had a cotton crew neck sweater that I absolutely loved.
I wore that thing all the time,
sometimes a few days in a row,
which looking back was probably not my finest style moment.
That sweater is long gone,
but this one is honestly the closest
I've ever come to finding a replacement.
It's just a simple navy cotton crew neck,
but that's kind of the point.
It's classic, it's easy to wear.
And for this look, I've styled it with a t-shirt,
light wash jeans, and white sneakers.
Nothing complicated, just a simple and casual fall outfit
built around a piece that for me feels very familiar.
Speaking of classics, you know,
there are few people who embody classic men's style
quite like Steve McQueen.
The king of cool, no shortage of iconic looks
from the plaid three-piece suit
in the Thomas Crown Affair
to his leather bomber in The Great Escape.
But one of my favorites has always been
one of his simplest, the Harrington jacket.
You know, I have wanted one for years,
but what I haven't wanted to do
is to pay the price for what is considered
the classic Harrington jacket.
I could just never bring myself to pull the trigger.
But this one from Quince gives me
exactly what I've always loved about that McQueen look,
that clean, simple silhouette, the stand collar,
that effortless cool, but for a fraction of the price.
For this outfit, I've paired it with a denim shirt,
classic khaki trousers, and brown derbies
for a McQueen-inspired look.
It's simple, it's timeless, and it's proof
that you don't necessarily have to pay the iconic price
to get the iconic look.
Now, the quality here is really solid,
like all of the items I'm featuring from Quince
in this video, and it feels like something
that should cost more than it does.
And it usually would, but Quince has an answer for that.
They cut out the middleman,
working directly with manufacturers
to keep prices much lower than you would expect.
Now, another thing I love about Quince
is that they are thoughtful about how things are made.
Organic materials, environmentally conscientious packaging,
and ethical business practices.
Plus, you've got free shipping and 365-day returns,
that's right, which makes it easy to try things out.

Now, my personal style doesn't typically lean
all that rugged, but once fall rolls around,
there's something about a waxed cotton jacket
that I absolutely love.
Part of it is the look, of course,
but I think a lot of it is the feeling
that comes along with wearing one.
We tend to think about spring as the season of change
and new beginnings, but I've always felt
like fall has its own version of that.
The leaves are changing, there's that first crisp chill
in the air, the holidays are on the horizon,
everything just starts to feel a little different.
And for whatever reason, a waxed jacket
just feels like it belongs in that picture.
For this outfit, I've styled it
with a light tan ribbed cotton crew neck from Quince,
along with some dark denim and oxblood boots,
leaning into that slightly more casual, rugged character.
And once again, with this jacket,
there's a pretty obvious comparison here.
Barber is, of course, the iconic name
when it comes to waxed jackets,
but just like the Harrington from the previous look,
this one from Quince gives you that classic look
and feel for a fraction of the price.
One of the things I've talked about for years
is that if you wanna make your fall style
feel a little more elevated and luxurious,
one of the easiest ways to do that
is through your choice of fabric.
And cashmere is probably the perfect example.
There's nothing complicated about a crew neck sweater,
but make that same sweater in cashmere
and it immediately feels more refined, more luxurious,
and just a little bit more special.
This one is Quince's Mongolian cashmere crew neck
in olive green, great color for fall.
It has that richness you want this time of year,
but it's still neutral enough to be incredibly versatile.
For this outfit, I've styled it over a white button-up
along with some ivory trousers and horsebit loafers,
which I think is a great example
of everything I was just talking about.
You don't necessarily need a more complicated outfit
to make it feel more elevated.
Sometimes you just need better materials.
Last fall and winter, there was one coat
you probably saw me wearing quite a bit,
my Lora Piana Storm System coat.
And whenever I posted it,
the reaction was usually pretty consistent.
People loved the way it looked.
What they didn't love was the price.
And I completely understand why,
because it costs nearly $4,000.
A big part of that price comes down
to the Lora Piana fabric,
but if what you really love is the look,
the clean silhouette, the knee length,
that very classic and elegant style,
this coat from Quince gets you remarkably close.
It's got that same kind of refined look.
It's water-resistant, and for this outfit,
I've styled it for a classic business look,
charcoal suit, white shirt,
some color in the tie, black oxfords.
So if you want a coat with a similar look
as my LP one without spending four grand to get it,
this coat costs $104.
And that is pretty hard to argue with.
So yeah, I think it's safe to say I'm ready for fall.
These are five outfits
I'm genuinely looking forward to wearing.
And at this point,
I'm really just waiting for the weather to cooperate.
Big thanks again to Quince
for partnering with me on this video.

along with some substitutions down in the description.
Thanks as always for watching and stay tailored.
