Could the New York Yankees do it? Could they win the American League East? They just got some really great news, guys. If you look at the schedule and if you look at how things have been shaken up, the New York Yankees not saying they will, but it is definitely in play. So listen, the New York Yankees, all of a sudden there are three games behind Tampa Bay. Now, what's the date? It's September 4th. There's 20 something games left. Is it possible for the New York Yankees to overthrow the race? Yes, it's definitely possible. Will they? I don't know. I can't tell the future. I can't tell you that. What I can tell you is this. I believe that the that the New York Yankees have an easier schedule than Tampa Bay does. And that's going to that could the that that that could play in the Yankees favor, obviously. And I hope the Yankees are able to take advantage of that. And with Aaron Judge coming back, seemingly, I mean, he could be back by the next series, which would be wild. But Judge, he could be back by then. It just shows you that, OK, they want to take advantage of this weaker schedule. I'm not saying the schedule overall is weak. I'm just saying it's their schedule is a little easier than what Tampa Bay has, because we got to take a look at what Tampa Bay has ahead. Now, the wild card race is insane. You have Baltimore Orioles as the game and a half behind. Man, you would think that Baltimore would be out of it by the time we play them and probably. But to people who are saying that they're out of it now, I disagree. They're they're a game and a half out. They're going to have to maintain this kind of play and play well. But let's check out the Yankees. Their schedule. You got San Diego. Then you got Colorado. Go beat up on Colorado. Take two of three from San Diego. Go back to the stadium. Beat up on Colorado. Sweep them. I want to see a sweep. Take two of three from the Metropolitans. Go in there and make them fricking squeal. Then you got Minnesota. Easier series. You could easily. I mean, I would love a sweep, but take two of three. Take two of three from Arizona. Then the Yankees could be heading in to the Tampa Bay series. Red hot. If they take advantage of this upcoming schedule. And so far, so good with beating the Angels. If they take advantage of this kind of softer upcoming schedule and just win, you could put yourself in a really great spot where I'm not saying you're going to overthrow Tampa by the Tampa series because Tampa is going to have to lose a decent amount. I realize that. But you got four games with them. So if you're a game behind them, if you're able to make that even two games, every single game is going to feel like a playoff game versus Tampa. You this could get really exciting because then you have Baltimore and Baltimore. A game and a half out right now, maybe by this point, they're going to be well out and they could. But let's just say at the end of the at the end of the season, the the Rays have the Phillies. The Yankees would have Baltimore. I like the Yankees chances more than I like Tampa Bay's chances. And I'm not saying that Tampa Bay, all their bad team. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Relax. Not saying that. I'm just saying that the Yankees kind of have an easier lane, that they have an easier path. There are three games behind. This is why every every single game matters. This is why I freak out in April. This is why I freak out in May, because every single game matters. If they beat Tampa Bay one or two extra times over the course of this season, the Yankees obviously are a couple of games closer to first place. This is why every game matters. This is why I never say, oh, it's a long season. I agree. It is baseball. I mean, it's a long season. There's no denying that. But every single friggin game matters. Last year's evidence of that. We tied with Toronto at the end of the season and they won the tiebreaker. So if we just beat Toronto one more time last year's postseason, we could have maybe have seen a rematch between the Yankees and the Dodgers in the World Series. I know that sounds crazy. And Toronto was really hot last year. No doubt about it. But they really did take advantage of playing at home home field advantage. Some people think it's overrated. I don't. There's something to it, especially postseason baseball. There's something to it. The New York Yankees played Boston last year at home and they won. So I don't think home field advantage is overrated. In fact, you don't. If you're if you're going to meet Tampa Bay in the playoffs, you don't want to see them in Tampa. They play really good at home. Really good. So this is why first place is so important. Now, it's rarely ever happened. This isn't like a thing that happens. Oh, hey, you start the month of September behind in. You win the whole year. You win your respective division. It doesn't. It's only happened a few times. I heard it on the Michael K show. He mentioned it. It's it's only happened like a handful of times where you enter September in second place and then you overthrow the division winner. It hasn't happened much. But with how the schedule is, I'm just looking at it right now. I'm kind of salivating at it. The Yankees could really take advantage of this softer schedule. They can. I'm going to go look at Tampa's. So Tampa, they have Texas right now. Then they have Atlanta. They have Atlanta when the Yankees have the Rockies. That's big. That is big because they can lose two of three from Atlanta and Atlanta. Then the Yankees could sweep the Rockies. That's a big deal. Then you have Houston. Houston, not the best team. But they're better than the Mets. I think so. I know the Mets are playing good baseball. And then the Rays have have the athletics. OK. All right. All right. All right. All right. They have the athletics and the Yankees have Minnesota. But then they have Boston and the Yankees have Arizona. So that's another series where the Yankees could pick up a couple of games. Now, Arizona right now, second place in the NL West. But when you look at the wild card, they're right there. They're a half game up ahead of San Diego. San Diego, 73 and 67. The Yankees would love a sweep. They need to take two of three. You basically have to treat if you want to win the American League East. You have to treat every single game as if it's a playoff game. You have to at least ever see every single series as if it's a playoff series. And if you win the series, you advance. That's how the Yankees have to do it. And they and we also have to see some sweeps in here. So take two of three from the Padres. Sweep them if you can. Then sweep the Rockies. Beat up on the Mets. Make them show the New York Mets, show the Mets fans that they are indeed the New York Yankees little brother. And that makes people mad. I don't care because you are. You are every single year. We have to hear about the Mets. So they're going to be good this year. This year's our year. Ever since they poached Soto from the New York Yankees, they've sucked. Oh, man. Juan doesn't I'm sorry. I know a lot of people hate one. And I'm not saying he should be a New York Yankee. I'm going to say this. He does not belong there. It's all I'm going to say. That organization is it's a little backwards and maybe they get schooled the offseason. Some people are thinking that we'll see. But the athletics, 55 and 86. So that's that's going to be a series where the Yankees go in and face the twins. You're going to go tit for tat. I mean, with the Rays there, like if the Rays win, you got to win.
