This weekend was a big reminder as to just how lucky I am to live in a place like Newfoundland and be able to photograph the vast beauty it has to offer!

Okay, so I'm just pulled off to the side of the road here.
We just had to make a quick stop, but basically this weekend I'm just doing solo camping and
just photography all weekend on the Bonavista Peninsula in Newfoundland.
So I just have my rooftop tent set up on my Subaru Forester, but there's no plan.
I've been driving for about two hours already, so I'm about an hour out from roughly the
area I want to go.
I don't know where I'm going to camp, but that's the beauty of the rooftop tent.
I don't really need a plan.
I can just kind of camp wherever, as long as I can tuck away from the wind a little
bit.
I'm just going to take a second to go over what I'll be using photography-wise for the
trip.
So in here I've just got my DJI Mini 3 Pro.
I don't really use the drone as much anymore.
And then my trusty X-T5 with a 23mm lens.
That's probably what I'm going to keep it to, and for video I'm basically just running
my Fujifilm X-H2S with my 16-55mm, keeping it really minimal, and just a Sennheiser MKE
200 mic on it.
I did also bring an 85mm lens.
I got rid of my telephoto lenses, just because I don't really do wildlife photography anymore.
But if I do see some puffins out in Elliston, the 85mm will just be really nice to have.
But I don't necessarily think it's going to give me enough reach to really get good shots
of puffins.
But I did last year with an 85mm, so we'll see.
It didn't really account for the fact that there's a lighthouse like a couple hundred
meters that way.
And it's really foggy, so the fog horn keeps going off, obviously.
Hopefully it doesn't **** up my sleep, but I'm here now, I'm set up, so it is what it is.
Okay, so I found a spot for camping for night two.
I basically just, I was going down this gravel road and then found this little side path.
I think it's actually meant for quads.
But the car fit down, so I just kept driving.
This nice little open area.
So I'm just going to go set up the tent for the night.
Alright, so last night was one of the heaviest thundershowers I think I've ever heard in
my life.
There was, the ladder was on solid ground, and then like an hour later it was like two
inches below water, like the feet of the ladder.
So anyways, I didn't sleep the best.
I got like a solid six hours after the storm passed, but yeah, it was a pretty gnarly night.
So I think I'm just going to kind of pack up here and get going like right away and
just go get a coffee and head home.
So thank you very much for watching.
