On August 29, 2026, Arcadia lost Gene Glasco. I lost a friend. Our city lost a hero. Gene served in the U.S. Navy as a riverboat gunner in Vietnam. He served 12 years as Arcadia’s elected City Clerk. He volunteered with Arcadia PD as a VIPS member. He built the Vietnam War Monument at Arcadia County Park to honor the 14 Arcadia boys who never came home.
