Speaking at the September 15, 2016 Arcadia City Council meeting

Last night at Arcadia City Council I spoke about the reality our police officers and firefighters live with every day.
They put on the uniform and go toward danger. They never know if they will make it home. That is the life they chose so the rest of us can live ours.
I have the endorsement of our police and fire associations. Some people call those groups “special interests” and say I’m a sellout for standing with them.
I am not a sellout.
I spent nearly 40 years in law enforcement. I know this work. They know I know it.
I will always stand with our first responders. I will also represent the residents and businesses of Arcadia. Those two things are not in conflict.
That is the commitment I made last night. That is the commitment I will keep.
