The Philadelphia Eagles make multiple sneaky good signings to their practice squad after finalizing
the 53-man roster. GM Howie Roseman had to address specific areas need for depth and that is exactly
what he did. I'm your host Colin Kelley. Welcome to Eagles Digest. In today's video we're going to
highlight the signings of one Jaden Blue, Kieran Amagagi, and Robert Longerbeam. Talk about why
they are worthy developmental stashes and why we should not be surprised at all by these particular
signings. Before we do, subscribe to join the most passionately informed community of Eagles fans.
Eagles fans that are going to be looking to one Jaden Blue, formerly of the Cowboys,
as a change of pace potential game day active for the Eagles in the near future. Jaden Blue
is a player of long-standing interest for the Eagles. Drafted by the Cowboys in the 2025 draft,
Devin Jackson, who covers the draft for the Inquirer, had this to say. Eagles bringing in
Jaden Blue. He had a 30-visit formal meeting with the Eagles during the draft process,
wasn't active for 12 games last year, lost the RB2 battle in Cowboys camp. The speed,
the big playability attracted the Eagles' attention. You look at Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley,
of course, Saquon Barkley, the three current active roster 53-man Eagles running backs,
don't quite have as natural speed plus receiving upside. You look at the scouting report,
courtesy of NFL.com's Lance Zerline. Blue is quick, agile, uke ability, running wheel routes,
angle routes out of the backfield, a way that Sean Mannion is certainly going to want to utilize
running backs like Saquon and potentially Jaden Blue. Think about the 4.38 speed, the ability
to potentially return kicks. Ultimately, the weaknesses, why he wasn't retained by the Cowboys
bumbling mental mistakes, the processing. Dane Brugler, one of the lead draft analysts
in the industry, had this to say with respect to Jaden Blue and his lack of ascension,
lack of staying power with the Cowboys. Blue had well-known football character concerns coming out
of Texas. Cowboys bet on the talent in the fifth round wasn't quite enough for them. When you think
about the Eagles, a stash in Jaden Blue is worthy. Is he going to have a lot of work? No. Saquon
Barkley is the Eagles' bell cow. And when you think about the Eagles' bell cow, perfect time
where you are trading specifically against other users, not the house like traditional sports
books. You're buying yes or no on contracts related to politics, the weather, and sports,
whether it's the team like the Eagles, your team to win the division or even more, or individual
players like the lead RB1, Saquon Barkley, or your Philadelphia Eagles. When you think about
the role he's going to play here, all the yards he's going to accrue in this new look revamped
Eagles scheme with Shawn Mannion, a yes trade, $25 yes trade to record 1000 plus rushing yards
pays out $36. Why $25? In particular, because if you're interested in signing up on Cal sheet,
using the link in the description, and the pin comment, digest NFL gets you $25
instantly added to your account. When you think about the Eagles offensive system,
the need for agile offensive linemen to pave the way for Saquon Barkley, potentially Jaden Blue.
The Eagles also added one Kieran Amagagi, a big six foot five 320 pound offensive lineman.
Notably, a tackle was a third round pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears ultimately
cut did not make their 53 man finds his way to the Eagles practice squad. When you think about
there's a long standing interest with Amagagi like there was with Jaden Blue. Anthony Dabona
brought up this bookmark tweet this legacy tweet with respect to the Eagles being in attendance
watching one Amagagi closely. UConn's pro day. Yale small school doesn't have their own pro day.
Amagagi though, watch closely. I won Ben Aigelana, Tony Catalina,
capturing their interaction. One Amagagi was yet to be drafted, but going through the pre draft
with one Eagles area scout, Ben Aigelana, the former Villanova offensive lineman
pictured together. Clearly some familiarity. The Eagles relied on Aigelana. His experience,
his playing experience also drafted on day two of the NFL draft back in 2011.
To find a bit of a gem to add to an offensive line, a trenches where you can never have quite enough
depth, quite enough upside. And when you think about Devin Jackson, the aforementioned of the
with regards to the Amagagi signing, also not surprising. The Eagles had a formal interview
with him at the 2024 combine. Do a closer look at him at the pro day in at UConn.
Didn't work out in Chicago. Clearly has developmental traits. Lance Zerline
had this with respect to Amagagi's scouting report. Size athleticism, road grading power,
light on his feet, hands, notable season improvement at Yale there. Arms to go on for
days. Impressive torque, but weaknesses going from Yale to the NFL. That transition is always
going to be an uphill battle. You think about the feet, the feel for positioning and angles.
Heavy feet has been a bit of an issue for Amagagi. But when you think about learning from
the likes of Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, particularly off the left, when we look at
Markel Bell, a physical, huge offensive lineman, also a third round pick, but by your Eagles,
this pass draft, Amagagi is much, much needed, valuable stash for potential left tackle development.
As the Eagles look to add that depth with potential injuries, otherwise over the course
of a grueling 17 game season, and hopefully well beyond that. Defensively, the Eagles also added
one Robert Longerbeam. Corner drafted in 2025 by the Baltimore Ravens with a sixth round pick.
Jordan Schultz had this to say with respect to Longerbeam. Baltimore very high on Longerbeam
was their sixth round pick back in 2025, but had to waive him due to a lot of depth in their
cornerback room. He was looking for a better chance to get on the field to go elsewhere.
He mentioned Schultz did also the Eagles quietly canvassing the leak for another corner in recent
weeks. Now sign one in Longerbeam, who's fully healthy after suffering a torn patellar tendon
last season. That injury certainly put him behind as far as the Ravens room being in a position
to really earn, without a doubt, a 53 man roster stash just fell behind. One injury
in another team's room is another opportunity as far as the Eagles cornerback room is considered.
Specifically, when you think about the Eagles defensive depth chart at cornerback,
we know Rick Wolin, we know Quinion, Cooper, they're going to be absolute fixtures,
constants. But outside, you look at cornerback depth, Jonathan Jones, you know, with a bit of
an injury. You've got Mac McWilliams, Corian Bennett, on the IR, the Eagles need depth,
they need to be able to look to certain players to fill in at outside corner, potentially even
inside. When you think about the scouting report, the exact calling card of one Robert Longerbeam,
Zirline had this to say at the time of Longerbeam's pre-draft process,
culture guy, by way of Ruckers where he played his college ball, competitive tilt,
ability to turn the ball over, which the Eagles love and covet. You look at twitchy burst,
excellent balancing high-low routes. Weaknesses though, thin below average play strength,
average in catch-up mode, lack of length, struggle with perimeter blocks.
You think about physicality, a lack thereof. The Eagles have great corners to learn from
with Rick Wolin, the size, how he plays, how he has an edge. Quinion Mitchell as well,
the size there, how he plays with the physicality. Longerbeam, like Amagagi,
like Jaden Blue, has incredible relative room opportunity to learn and to grow.
When you think about Longerbeam, Caden Steele of NJ.com had this to say about one Longerbeam,
as a valuable dart throw, you look at the likes of Ringo, Jonathan Jones, Rick Wolin
as free agents. Next offseason, Longerbeam has a bit of an inside track to compete for
a backup, one of the, if not the first guy in rotation ahead of next season. Howie Roseman,
you got to play chess, not checkers. When you're ultimately looking to build a Super Bowl contender,
you've got to find things on the margin. And that's exactly what he did with Jaden Blue,
with Kieran Amagagi and one Robert Longerbeam. Guys, I want to hear from you.
Which of these signings intrigues you the most? Is it the running back in Jaden Blue,
offensive lineman Kieran Amagagi, or is it the corner Robert Longerbeam? For me,
it is one Jaden Blue. When you think about the flair that he provides, the style that's not
so common elsewhere in the Eagles running back depth, even the practice squad with
Carson Steele, of course, with Damian Pearce, the return potential. Who do you guys,
who most intrigues you? Let me know. As always, have a great one, and Go Birds!
