Making Decisions on Behalf of Your True Self

When making decisions about important matters such as love, partnership and where to live, should we rely on our mind’s analysis or trust something deeper? When we have important questions, where do we find the answers we need?
Rupert says: ‘In the absence of the mind, awareness has no questions. But the mind may need answers about where to live, what to do, who to live with and so on. Normally the mind is dominated by the sense of being a separate self, and the separate self is insecure, needy and anxious. If you make a decision from that place, those qualities will be implicit in your decision and will colour your life circumstances.
‘So, when you have a big life decision to make, pose the question in your mind but go back to your true nature. Allow the qualities that are inherent in your true nature – peace, sufficiency and no anxiety or fear – to inform your mind. Your mind still makes the decision but on behalf of the self you truly are, not the ego
