We had such a warm, wild, fun day around here with the whole family. If you do not know where we live, Northern Strike is currently going on at the combat readiness training center near us, so we had military jets and helicopters flying overhead and literally shaking the windows all morning. Jamie got the backyard pool opened up, cut the grass, and we got everything set up to finally celebrate some family birthdays.
The kids came over and jumped right in the pool, and I have to say I am ridiculously proud of Eleanor. Normally when the family comes over and the kids start getting super loud by the pool, Eleanor gets overwhelmed and heads straight inside. This time she stayed outside with us the whole day, walked all around the pool, and did so good even when the kids brought out the giant basket of dog toys. Kira had a blast outside getting totally soaked with her absolute favorite water toy, and we also made a yummy strawberry cake with chocolate frosting for everyone.
After all the chaos wound down, we sat down to look through some of the incredible fan mail, cards, and beautiful memorial gifts you guys sent in for Memphis. Going through everything is still really emotional and hard for Jamie and me, but we love and appreciate this community so much.
