Steam Trains stir something unique in the human soul. A machine of an era long gone that seems to be nothing short of alive. A mechanical beast of steam and steel, with a heart raging with a fire hotter than most can comprehend. Rods whirring, wheels spinning, smoke billowing, and steam hissing, steam engines are a visual, auditorial, and olfactory experience unrivaled by any other machine before or after their inception. While engines of all sizes can evoke emotion, there is perhaps no group of engines so powerful, both in raw power, and emotional power, as the giants of the Super Power era of steam design. Behemoths weighing 400 tons or more, with enough power to lug heavy passenger and freight trains at track speed while making the very Earth beneath their drivers tremble and quake at their raw power. The iron horses of the late steam era were nothing short of the apex of steam power.
