This morning we are here at Texas Humane Heroes. It is very hot outside. We have Mr. Harold with
us. Christian, please tell us all about him. Hi there. This is Harold. He's a little over six
years old and is absolutely just the best, friendliest, smartest, most well-behaved boy
you could imagine. He is so cute and I mentioned it's a little hot out here so he's a little,
he's a little hot. Yeah. But he's precious. Yeah, we didn't work him out too hard before this. It's
it's just that hot out. And you know the black bird doesn't do him any favors in this kind of
weather. But you know he's just happy palling around people. He knew he was going to be on
TV this morning so he was pretty excited about that. But no, he is just an incredibly smart,
great trained, housebroken, knows the commands, loves kids, loves other dogs, loves cats. Wow.
Could literally just go anywhere and would immediately feel at home. Okay, that being said,
what kind of family would he fit best in? Kind of sounds like any. Pretty much anyone. I mean,
you're going to want to have enough room on your couch for this guy. He's a cuddler. But yeah,
outside of that, I mean, he has proved to be gentle with kids of all ages. Like I said,
he's lived with cats and loves them. We had some volunteers take him out for a new program
called Doggy Day Out, which is exactly what it sounds like. Yes. And they just took him to
Lakewood Park and hung out and had the best time. And he just, you know, loved up on everyone in
their family, chilled out, said hi to the other dogs that wanted to say hi. If they didn't,
he just kind of let them go and just was, you know, checked all the boxes for what you want
out of a perfect afternoon with the dog. I love that. Happy go lucky. If people are saying this
and they're like, I'm interested in Harold, but I've got another dog and I want them to meet,
how can they go about that whole process? You know, you just look on our website,
make sure he's still available. And if you have a dog and want to do a meet and greet,
just come down during adoption hours and, you know, find the staff member in the red shirt
and tell them that you want to do a meet and greet with Harold. And then we'll get Harold
ready. You can get your dog ready and then we'll see how they get along. It'll be a little party.
And then there's a lot of things happening at the shelter. We've got some construction in the front.
Tell us what's going on. Those are our brand new dog kennels. They are less than six weeks away
from opening. It's going very well. It's going actually ahead of schedule. It's about 39 kennels
and they're going to be a little bit bigger than what we have now. Climate controlled. They're all
going to have inside, outside access. And based on their size and the fact that, you know,
a lot of our kennels kind of hold several small puppies and litters, we're going to
have room for anywhere between 60 and 70 dogs in there at any given time. But what I'm most
excited about is all the walkways and play yards and kind of shaded areas that we're going to be
building out with them. So there's going to be even more space, more walkable areas, more just
places to go and hang out and see if, you know, a dog like Harold is the dog for you. Well, let's
go inside. Mr. Harold, you need to cool off. Thank you so much, Christian, for letting us
meet him and hopefully you get adopted really soon. Thank you for having us. Of course.
