Bulldogs Final is brought to you by Visit Lake Oconee,
Georgia's lake getaway, less than an hour from Athens.
From Fox 5 Sports, your wrap-up of Georgia's college football Saturday.
Welcome to Bulldogs Final.
Sweet redemption for Ole Miss,
ending the dog season last year in the college football playoffs.
Georgia responding tonight with a 42-7 rout of the Rebels.
Welcome into this week's edition
of Bulldogs Final, a late-night edition.
Hope you're staying up with us as it's currently 1 a.m.
Let's show you how this one went down.
Starting off first quarter, Nate Frazier has
been nothing short of dominant since his return from injury,
setting the tone early with a 46-yard run
on the first play for Georgia.
The drive ends in a Craig Dandridge rushing touchdown.
The first TD for the first rush touchdown
for the true freshman in the first score of this game.
Ole Miss defense continuing to give up big plays this time.
Gunnar Stockton flings it out 58 yards
to Talon Taylor to put the Dogs up 14-0.
putting up 28 points before the half, including this.
Stockton taking it himself here.
15-yard rushing touchdown, his second.
Rushing score of the year.
Let's get a pulse check from head coach Kirby Smart.
Yeah, the score has no bearing on what we do.
We're trying to physically stomp people out,
and that score has nothing to do with that.
Now, I can't say that we have done that consistently,
because at halftime I talked about games we've had leads on,
and we came out and didn't play real well.
And I was a little disappointed.
There was a little lull in there that we didn't, you know,
we didn't play real well, and it got sloppy.
But they fought through it, and that was kind of the talk at halftime.
You've got to love how he's always keeping the pressure on his players.
Second quarter, Rashawn Dinkins comes
in with the pressure on Chambliss,
forces a fumble, and Dinkins also recovers it.
Just when Ole Miss started to get in a rhythm,
the Dawgs completely wipe it out.
Now pressure on Stockton.
He scrambles, buys time,
finds Talon Taylor in the back of the end zone again.
His second TD, he's not done yet.
That makes it 35-7.
Ole Miss does avoid the shutout thanks to this.
Sha'Kai Mills-Knight with an eight-yard rush up
the middle to make it 35-7.
Dawgs, of course, though, answer back.
It's Dillon Taylor again, make it a hat trick.
And look, it makes it look easy,
runs into the end zone, and wait for this.
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo high-fiving
his colleagues in the booth.
Dawgs go on to win 42-7.
Our DJ Shockley was on the sidelines.
And DJ, what did you think of this win?
The Dawgs came in and dominated Ole Miss in this ballgame, 42-7.
When the game started, I don't think
anybody expected this kind of outcome
with the team that they faced over
the past couple years, giving them fits.
But give this team a lot of credit.
Give the offense a lot of credit to come out
and rush for up close to 290 yards
in the ballgame.
Gunnar Stockton, three, four touchdowns, another running,
And then the defense got after
Chambliss in a way nobody has done.
They came to this game not only having only five sacks in a ballgame,
the Dawgs got five against them in this one.
Defense was really good.
Active, aggressive, and got after Ole Miss for a lot of the time.
And offensively.
Let's go.
As you can hear right now, they're excited and they should be because
it was a big-time win in a big-time environment when everybody watched.
Dogs will have to get ready next week for a Missouri team coming off
a loss, but for tonight, the Dogs dominated a team
that many thought could be a college football playoff team
with the best quarterback in the country.
Dog defense said not so fast.
Big win here in Oxford for the Dogs as they go on and look for another
win next week against Missouri as they head back to Sanford Stadium.
All right, thanks so much, DJ.
I love the cameo there from Justin Williams.
Truly a complete game on all three phases for the Dawgs.
We're going to hear from one of the guys
who got it done on offense next.
Stay tuned.
We'll be back for more Bulldogs Final.
We're back with more UGA football action
on Bulldogs Final.
There's a little bit of everything here at the Grove.
We're looking at some live painting.
This is really impressive.
I love that this is not your average tailgate.
Is that Lane Kiffin?
Oh, that's from the LSU game.
This is amazing.
Okay, so you have no ties to Ole Miss?
None.
Why did you pick this for your bachelor party?
We love football.
We said, what's the best tailgate in the country?
And we picked Ole Miss.
Hotty toddy.
Okay, that video went on way longer than that,
but the group looked like an amazing time today.
I can't believe a bachelor party chose to go to an Ole Miss game.
I don't think I've ever seen that one before.
They might have to be drinking their sorrows away
as Ole Miss fans hadn't experienced
a loss in their home stadium since 2024,
if you can believe that.
Welcome back into Bulldogs final.
Dogs stopped the Rebs 42-7.
Our DJ Shockley sat down with one
of the playmakers on the offense after the win.
All right, Jay, first off, man,
just this year emotions just coming off a big win.
Obviously, this was a game that a lot
of people had circled on their schedules.
Just talk about the emotion right after getting this big win.
I mean, we've been thinking about
this game ever since last year when they ended our season.
And we knew ever since after our last game,
that's all we've been thinking about is just getting ready for Ole Miss
and getting ready to be our best.
You're a guy who were a big part of this plan tonight.
They got the ball to you in a bunch of different ways.
Did you know coming in that you could
have this kind of success in the game
playing with the things they drew up for you?
I mean, you always got to be ready.
You don't know if it's going to come to you, if it's
not going to come to you.
So you just got to make sure you're ready when the opportunity comes.
You guys rushed for 295 yards in the game.
That's a big part of tight ends or a big part of that as well.
What did you guys have the mindset about when you say,
all right, we want to be able to run the ball in this game?
I mean, that's what we – all offseason that's what we talked about
is being able to run the ball on any defense
and just being physical up front,
communicating, and just doing our job.
Yeah, thanks so much, DJ.
Catching up with Jaden after the win.
And in these wins, you have seen a different guy
be the top contributor each week
as we have a new name for our Dog of the Week.
I might have given you a hint
in the highlights as you heard me say his name
not once, not twice, but three times as Talon Taylor.
A three-touchdown night for the sophomore on just four receptions.
140 yards for the wide receiver today.
What a game for him and the rest of the Bulldogs.
Coming up after the break, we're going
to check in with our on-site crew.
That's Georgia Chambers and
And our photographer, Super Blaine, that's coming up on Bulldogs Final.
We're back with more UGA football action on Bulldogs Final.
Coming from his right, and they are, and it's to the 16 yards.
We talked so much about the offense in this one,
but how about the defense, that interception by KJ Bolden?
One of the takeaways of the day,
five sacks on Trinidad Chambliss as well.
One of the best quarterbacks in the country.
Dogs with a statement win in Week 10,
and now we're the only team in SEC with only one loss.
No one doing it like the Dogs, truly.
Let's head out to Oxford, where
our Georgia Chambers brings us to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Last season, the dogs walked off the field
for the last time after falling to Ole Miss.
It was very somber.
Well, fast forward to this football season.
The dogs walked off the field in Oxford,
Mississippi with a very different outcome.
After the dominant win, players said they remembered the feeling after
the Sugar Bowl loss and it definitely felt better here today.
What made the difference? Defense definitely played a part in that.
It all boiled down to limiting quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
In the Sugar Bowl, he had over 300 passing yards
and was effective with his feet. Fast forward to this year,
he only had 170 passing yards and finished with negative rushing yards.
You look at Ole Miss as a whole,
they were limited to under 100 yards on the ground.
We got a lot of history with this team.
Just finally coming into their place,
and I think they're on a 17 home game streak,
so just going to their place and just looking in the fourth quarter,
seeing everybody empty in the stands, it means a lot to us.
That was the goal.
Much different performance tonight against Trinidad Chambliss.
What made the difference as a defense?
Just play together, man, and do your job.
You can't be selfish when you play a quarterback like him.
You can't be trying to, oh, go make a play,
and he'll hit you right there where you left off at.
That type of team, you got to just do your job.
Everybody do your job and just trust in your brothers.
And I feel like the plays are going to come to you.
Everybody got a chance to make a play
tonight because you just do your job
and execute your job, and they all came together.
This was one of Georgia's most complete games.
Georgia's younger talent has definitely stepped up,
and Talon Taylor delivered today with three touchdowns.
Head coach Kirby Smart says he's a player
that works hard and is easy to coach.
He runs the same speed all the time.
And people don't give him enough credit
that he's stepped up as a gunner
I've done some things for KJ being out, which has been tremendous.
So Talon's a worker.
He loves football.
We love coaching him because he's, like Coach Bobo works with him,
Coach Culley works with him every day because he's a special talent.
Arguably the most complete game Georgia has played so far this season.
How much does this say just in terms
of the team's identity moving forward?
Not for sure.
You know, we say every week we're trying to play
our first complete full four-quarter game.
And quite frankly, honestly, I feel like we still didn't do that today.
So really just getting back to the drawing board tomorrow,
looking at everything we can correct and getting ready for next week.
Coach Smart did say it's going to boil down
to which team is consistent the most.
No team in the SEC remains undefeated.
Georgia is now the only team
in the SEC with one loss.
They control their destiny moving forward,
but as Coach Smart loves to remind us,
humility is only a week away.
The dogs look forward to Missouri
at next week at 3:30,
one of their final home games of the season.
For Bulldogs final, I'm Georgia Chambers.
Thanks so much, Georgia.
What a way for the Dawgs to come back against Ole Miss
after their heartbreaking loss last year.
Like Georgia mentioned, three games left in the regular season.
Next step, hosting Missouri in Stanford Stadium.
They're 6-3 after falling to Texas today.
We'll see you next week on Bulldogs Final to recap that one.
But for now, as always, go Dawgs.
