What a crazy, fast-paced day in northern Michigan! The heat index reached up to 104 degrees, making it a complete sizzler out there. While Jamie stayed home to hold down the fort with our Siberian Huskies, Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor, I hit the road for a four-hour drive down to Detroit to pick up Dan from the airport.
Despite the flight delays and scorching temperatures, we made the most of the trip! We ventured downtown, snapped some photos by the Fox Theatre, grabbed delicious Buddy's Pizza, and hit up The Fillmore to see The Pretty Reckless. It was an absolutely incredible show, even if we were way up in the fourth balcony!
We finally made it back home at 3:00 in the morning, and the girls had the ultimate reaction. Even at 3 AM, they were ready to party, sniff everything in sight, and do late-night yard zoomies in the 80-degree night air! Now we are all recovering from the long drive and enjoying the air conditioning while we wait for this heatwave to break.
