Hi everyone from the Fox 13 Weather Center. I'm meteorologist Ilona McCauley. We are tracking
some hot and hazy conditions here in the coming days. You might have noticed a little haze outside
here in parts of western Washington as you stepped outdoors today. We've been largely spared from
that smoke but it is starting to make its way into parts of western Washington now thanks to those
offshore flow winds. And in addition to the fires that are burning in the central and eastern part
of the state. We've also got some smoke coming in from fires in British Columbia. This is going
to be the most impactful in Skagit and Whatcom County. Much stronger hazy skies there expected
as we get into tomorrow with air quality alerts posted there as well. We are going to turn up the
heat and temperatures are going to be below records but not too far. In fact we're going to
be forecasting a high on Wednesday of 92. The record on that date was 96 degrees. We're going
start to see a little bit of a break in those temperatures by Thursday 85. Far off of the record
luckily that was 99 back in 1991. The heat advisory goes into effect tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. and
it's going to stay with us all the way through late night on Wednesday at 11 p.m. We're not going
to see unfortunately a huge drop in those overnight temperatures. So sleeping in the overnight hours
will be uncomfortable as well. We're only looking for lows in the 60s so not not too much of some
relief there. A forecast for that future cast we do have a few clouds that have been pushing in
today. Believe it or not this is coming from a tropical system way down south. We will start
to see those higher level clouds breaking just a bit. Offshore flow winds will continue well on
into Tuesday and Wednesday. Those will be the two hottest days of the stretch and then we're going
start to see those winds flip around by the time we get into Wednesday evening and that will bring
in some additional monsoonal moisture where we could be talking about an isolated thunderstorm
once again for some of those higher elevations up in the cascade ranges and then back off to the east
once again. Tonight a mild overnight for us 62 degrees in Seattle 60 in Shelton. Upper 50s in
Bremerton will be at 60 degrees in Everett. Highs tomorrow again you can see pretty toasty. We're
going to see 90 degrees in Seattle easily looking for some mid 90s in some locations around the
foothills. It could be one of the warmest days we've seen so far this year in some spots.
88 in Olympia, 88 in Centralia will be at 93 degrees in Auburn. How about low 90s as well
in Federal Way with 91 degrees there. Monroe topping out in the low 90s as well. Some relief
of course as you get a little closer to the area waterways with temperatures there in the 70s
and then we're going to be even nearing 80 degrees in a lot of spots around the coastal regions.
Your seven-day forecast will show after the hot two days we are going to see that chance for
thunderstorms on Thursday. Finally those temperatures returning a little closer to
average for this time of year for the upcoming weekend with some drier skies.
