Orr Down The Shore: North Wildwood

Down the shore there at the beach. Enjoy yourself and Kathy, even down the shore. Like normally you would expect a breeze. That's not the case today, right? It's just about as hot down there as it is here. You know, it's very interesting that you say that Bill because we're at the seaport pier and you can see the building right there on the beach. If you go up there and grab something to eat or grab a drink, it is hot. It is in the 90s. Even if you step down on the beach by the time you make it a little bit closer and Sean, if you'll walk with me. It gets better and better and it gets more comfortable as we get toward the water and you can see a lot of people in the water and no doubt because we have the sea breeze so notably cooler right here. It's a warm wind if you get toward the seaport restaurants but you get right here and it feels comfortable. So we do have haze and you can see it. You can see the smoke in the air. It's not completely a blue sky day, but all in all we are expecting this breeze to keep things moving and we are not smelling the smoke. So that's the good news. I don't know if I'm going to be able to hear you because I think we lost the connection but I want to show you a little bit before we wrap it up and send it back so these ocean water temperatures are in the mid 70s right now and that's because our prevailing wind in Philadelphia is Southwest. So we're getting the really hot air. In Philadelphia, but that same wind pushes this water out and brings colder water up from the bottom of the ocean. So I do expect the ocean to be colder if you're going down the shore tomorrow or Saturday. Nevertheless, it is refreshing and it has been a great day down the shore. But yes, inland the shore. You look on your phone. You look at our numbers on our weather maps today. It's going to say it's in the 90s and if you step on the street, you feel every single degree. So they're telling me record crowds down here. Typical summer. We know we have about probably three or four more weekends before the guards were in college have to go back to school and all the kids. The athletes have to get back to high school for their high school sports. So all these folks are just so happy to be here and they are not leaving. I was told that at the Seaport Pier they don't get busy until 630 7 o'clock for dinner because no one wants to leave the beach. So right now conditions are good. We know we're a code orange unhealthy for sensitive groups, but right now it feels pretty good down here and like I said, we're not smelling any type of smoke. We'll send it back to you. Back here now this is going to be a lot of fun guys. This is pirate Pete's soda pop company and are we going to have some soda pop? Yeah, alright, how does this work? So the way it works, you buy a mug, you keep it and that's unlimited soda all day long. Oh my God. Alright, so let's pick our soda. OK, hold on 7 different flavors. All kinds of old school sodas. We got vanilla cream all the way to a black cherry all the way to a normal thing like ginger ale over there. Well, my favorite is root beer. So can we have a jolly rod? Can I do it? Yeah, and I get to pour it. Everybody gets to pour their own soda. OK, yeah, refills all night all day long. Yeah, wow, look at this. And I get this mug. Yeah, so we got a bunch of different styles of mugs here. We got all those mugs over there for sale today, so I love this. Cheers, cheers, a lot of fun guys. And aside from this, we're going to take a stroll. Let's take a stroll really quick down there. We have parm. I heard there's chicken parm on a stick. Jason, you would love this and then over here coming up. We're going to talk to the folks at bacon. Bacon who doesn't love that? We're going to send it back to you. Is that like bacon wrapped in bacon? That sounds pretty good. Chicken parm on a stick. Everything wrapped in bacon. What kind of soda pop is that Kathy? I got root beer. It is so cold too. It's so refreshing. I do enjoy some root beer, a root beer float. Yeah, do you like my my snappy little mug here? You sure that's just root beer in there? That's for me. I don't know. I like we love bacon jalapeno burger and our bacon barbecue burger and of course we're bacon bacon so we have to have our pork belly burnt ends with cornbread and honey butter and it's just lots of bacon. Oh, it's lots of bacon. That's what we do best. And where is your place? We are located 1148 South 11th St in South Philly. Alright, and we're going to be there. Yes, OK, let's bake some bacon guys. We've had a store in Princeton for like 18 years now and we've been doing the trucks for 11 and there's really no better place to be than North Wildwood tonight. I mean, we love coming down here. We always have fun and it's just a good time. OK, so tell us what we got here for the kids. Go ahead kids like six of our most popular. We have brownie chocolate chip cookie dough that has a cookie baked in the center. This is vanilla right, which is just plain vanilla. This is lemon filled red velvet and this is cookies and cream. My favorite. OK, who got cookies and cream? Alright, we're going to take we're going to take take your cupcake guys. If you remember and guess what? I took lemon. This looks delightful. Absolutely, you know I like to think of this as a traveling circus of food and we bring this here every other Thursday night. It's fantastic. You know we got great food. We got some really unique vendors. We got a still Walker back here. Oh my gosh, I didn't even see him. So what else does this bring to the area? Well, at the end of the day, North while there's nothing more than a big community and this event just fits right in with everything we do around here. Just a community feel of people coming together and having a good time and having some good food. Will tell you if you want to have a good time and you want to start the weekend early, there is no better place than the Wildwoods in general.
