before today Wednesday. It looks as though the high country northern Arizona
really north and east of the valley is where we are looking at the better
chances for some scattered flash flooding. So this does include burn
scars that we've seen near the dragon bravo fire as well as those active
wildfires that we've been saying as well. This is certainly going to be a
cause for concern in those areas along the high country, not just for today
Wednesday but also for thursday thursday. You can see so much more
yellow that's impacting all the states. We're looking at some more scattered
flash flood that's going to continue on through friday. So activity today
Wednesday, thursday and friday are going to be the most activity for this
week. Here's a look at our future cast model putting that into motion for you.
We are tracking those showers that are going to continue to push through. This
is going to be bringing us the potential for some activity here across
the valley at around eight o'clock. So that's the clock time down. You can
see further east of phoenix, those storms could be producing some active
weather and south as well. So very scattered in nature. You can see the
active weather that's going to be pushing through and you can see as we
progress through tonight's really eastern Arizona as well seeing that
active weather and especially towards southwestern Arizona is where we are
going to be seeing an active night ahead. We'll continue the threat for
some scattered showers heading into thursday. That is what thursday four
o'clock is looking like along Prescott surrounding areas north of the valley
and even northern Maricopa County. We are seeing some cells forming. So the
activity remains right now. It looks as though the afternoon and evening hours
is where we are anticipating the activity to begin yet again. And you
can see that still filtering into the forecast throughout friday. I actually
backtrack for you heading into the overnight hours. You can see south of
phoenix into southern Arizona. Remember we have those flood alerts in place. So
quite a bit of moisture is going to be associated with these storms that are
going to be producing those flood concerns. But especially for thursday
if you just saw and if you're just joining us, we have those for today and
for tomorrow thursday. We'll continue to keep close tabs as we progress
through the week. But right now here is an updated look on our rain chances. So
for today Wednesday we're looking roughly at a 30% chance of rain. We
bump up this percentage heading into Wednesday night sitting at a 40% 50%
for thursday thursday night. We'll see some more action sitting at a 60% with
a 40% chance for some moisture heading into friday throughout the nighttime
hours. And then our chances for more activity starts to dwindle down as we
head into the weekend. So the weekend is looking to be much calmer,
especially heading into sunday. But as of right now, thursday and friday look
to be more active. But even for today we got that monsoonal moisture pushing
through. We got a system from the east that's going to be surging in as well.
Low pressure and you can see our european model is indicating that we are
seeing some more widespread activity as we head into the coming days. This
beginning thursday and friday. So this is one of our models showing the
potential for some rain totals. This is our G. F. S. Model right now. It's
showing between today and friday across the valley into grande. We're looking
at a little less than half of an inch of rain, but a lot of the moisture that
we're seeing, at least the most amounts are going to be happening along
northern Arizona up into the high country press kit. This model in
particular is looking at close to three inches and further south areas
like Tucson as well. Nogales looking at over an inch of precipitation. Of
course, we could potentially see more or less. This is just a potential
outlook of what the next couple of days could look like, especially as we are
looking at some scattered storms that could be producing the heavy downpours
of rain and especially as we are seeing some flood alerts all across the states.
Now all across the nation. Here is the climate prediction center's recent
outlook when it comes to precipitation. So for a lot of the nation, you can see
highlighted in gray. We're looking at pretty average conditions, but it looks
as though as we close out this month, we're still seeing green here across
the states and along the four corners. So the monsoon that's still going to
continue on and we're still looking at some moisture that's going to be
impacting us. And this all indicates above average conditions as we head
into really the remainder of this month. Right now we are looking at 105
degrees right now, with the norm sitting at 107 degrees. Temperatures
are actually going to be pretty near average for today. We have been seeing
some cloud cover throughout the day, so we'll see if that will bring us
instability here in the valley. But what I can tell you widespread across
state, it is still hot. We got 97 out Sedona, 75 out in Flagstaff, 77 in
Prescott, 1 13 towards Bullhead City, like Havasu, 103 degrees towards the
Gila Bend right now with tonight's temperatures. Humidity values, by the
way, they're still going to be on the rise, so it's still going to feel quite
tropical, especially within the next couple of days. 87 tonight will be our
low here in Phoenix, the Gila Bend, 56 towards Flagstaff, 72 out in Sedona as
well. As we take a look at tomorrow's temperatures, we're gonna start to drop
down. So 102 below average for us here in Phoenix towards the Gila Bend as
well. We're looking at double digits this time towards Casa Grande, 87 out
in Globe, 82 in Prescott, 76 in Flagstaff, 86 for our folks out in
Sedona. So here is a current look at that 10 day Fox cast. You saw that 12
for tomorrow, Thursday, 50% chance of rain just about. So we're flirting in
between 40 to 50% 40% chance for Friday, 97 degrees. So we're down into the
double digits this weekend, at least the start of it. We're also tracking
those much cooler temperatures. And yes, it looks as though temperatures will
continue to track a little bit on the quote unquote cooler. And remember that
we are starting to see those rain chances dwindled down as we head into
this weekend. But as we head into next week, it looks as though we could see
some more chances for some moisture and moisture is still on the radar. We've
been showing you updated outlooks on the forecast and what that's gonna be
looking like as far as the next couple of days. This model right here will let
it load up and show you what we're tracking. This is what it's looking like
the next couple of days. So right now it looks as though all those areas
highlighted in blue that you see on your screen. We're looking at close to
an inch of precipitation for much of Maricopa County. You can see further
southeast. We could see close to two inches, but really all those areas
highlighted in purple and in red. We're nearing that two inch mark. So we're
seeing that yet again across northern Arizona, the high country. We're
certainly going to be on high alert as we are seeing those burn scars, not
great conditions when you have flood alerts and you have excessive rain that
is definitely going to be impactful and further south. We're also looking at
some potential for some treacherous rainfall along the way. But again, we
just have these flood watches that were just issued for much of the states.
We're going to continue to hold on to this one for areas along Payson,
Prescott, Yavapai County for today, for Thursday along the way here across
southern Arizona and here in the valley.
