A series of explosions also occurred in Simferopol, leaving parts of the city without power. According to the underground movement, the most interesting events occurred in the Feodosia-Kerch direction. A series of explosions, along with aircraft and air defense systems, were reported there. Furthermore, Kerch is again reporting hits on the Kavkaz port area and the Kerch port. In this way, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are increasing pressure on Russian logistics.
Ukraine is increasing the number and range of its strikes against Russian military logistics and infrastructure, according to a new report from the Institute for the Study of War. According to American analysts, the average depth of target engagement increased significantly in May and June 2026. OSINT analysis based on GeoConfirmed data records approximately 500 strikes on Russian equipment and cargo transport from May 1 to June 18, as well as 270 confirmed attacks since the beginning of 2026. In May, the most active strikes were carried out on the rear areas in the Gulyai-Polye and Orekhov directions, in particular along the M-14 highway connecting Rostov and Crimea. In June, the focus of attacks shifted to Crimea and the Kherson region, as well as the immediate rear areas in several operational areas. According to ISW, 210 attacks were recorded in May and 145 in June. The Institute also notes an increase in attacks on oil facilities: 18 in April, 33 in May, and 28 in June. Analysts believe the expansion of the strike campaign is already impacting Russian troop supplies.
Media previously reported that Ukraine continues to take control of the southern rear of the Russian Armed Forces. In this case Russia has begun withdrawing air defense assets from the front to Moscow. A new Pantsir system with a metal protective grille over the cabin was spotted near the plant. Such structures are typically installed on frontline vehicles to protect against drones. According to Defense Express , this could mean the system was removed from combat missions to protect the capital. If confirmed, this could signal a dramatic shortage of air defense systems in Moscow. The complex was spotted near the Sadovod shopping center, a few hundred meters from the Moscow Oil Refinery. Defense Express notes that such "barbecues" have not previously been observed on rear air defense elements around Moscow. OSINT analyst Kirill Mikhailov also told the Agency that he is unaware of any instances of such protective nets being installed on air defense systems deep within Russia.
