The Etude Op. 25, No. 9 in G major, commonly known as the Butterfly Etude, is a remarkable composition by the famous Frédéric Chopin. Although the title "Butterfly" was not given by Chopin himself (similar to other pieces with titles), Arthur Friedheim felt that some titles were unnecessary, and this title did not reflect the true essence of the composition.

This etude, written in an energetic Allegro assai tempo and in 2/4 time, is considered one of Chopin's shortest.

In its brevity, the Butterfly Etude contains a wealth of musical subtleties and invites pianists to explore the delicate balance between technique and expressiveness.
