This House Uses a Brick Wall to Breathe
The Tiny House in Kerala, India, is not interesting simply because it is small.
It is interesting because it uses brick as a breathing skin.
Set in a dense residential context, the house could not simply open itself to the outside. So the project creates a perforated brick facade — a climatic and visual filter that softens sunlight, allows cross ventilation, protects privacy, and gives the compact house a warmer, deeper atmosphere.
Behind this brick skin, the house turns inward. A dry courtyard, filtered light, connected spaces, neutral materials, exposed brick, wood, and small moments of green help the house feel more open without pretending to be large.
This is a compact house about breathing:
breathing through brick,
through shade,
through courtyards,
and through carefully controlled limits.
