This Smart Roof Drops Temperature by 10°C 🌧️🏡
Step into a home where architecture disappears into nature 🌿🏡
Located in Itupeva, Brazil, this stunning residence by UNA MUNIZVIEGAS is designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings—rocks, trees, water, and all. Built for a multi-generational family, this house is more than just a home… it's a living ecosystem.
What makes this house truly unbelievable?
👉 A double-layered wooden roof that creates an air cushion, naturally reducing indoor temperatures by up to 10°C—minimizing the need for air conditioning.
👉 A design that harvests rainwater while protecting expansive outdoor living spaces.
👉 A structure that works with the land—embedding concrete volumes into the terrain while elevating a light, transparent wooden pavilion above.
Massive rocks found on-site were carefully repositioned and even reused—making the house feel like it has always belonged here. A reflective pool mirrors the surrounding forest, completing a landscape where architecture and nature exist as one.
Designed for a couple in their 80s and their extended family, the home balances privacy and togetherness, functioning as both a peaceful retreat and a vibrant gathering space.
This is not just a house.
It’s a statement on how we should build in the future.
