Well, good morning! It is April 19th in Northern Michigan and mother nature decided to surprise us with some spring snow! The girls, Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor, were absolutely feisty this morning. Between the snowy zoomies and the loud morning "woos," it’s clear these Siberian Huskies are in their element whenever a dusting of white hits the ground, even if it is rapidly melting! We managed to catch Memphis zooming out the door on the security camera, and the girls definitely let us know that snow plus breakfast equals one very loud household.

After feeding the dogs, Jamie and I decided to go for a drive around Long Lake to see the extent of the flooding in our area. It is both beautiful and scary to see how high the water has risen. We visited the spot where my grandparents' old cottage used to be and saw creeks that have turned into rushing rivers. Some of the local cottages are completely surrounded by water, and we even saw where kids have been kayaking up to stop signs! We also stopped by Maple Ridge Park to check on the river and the "Indie Wiggles" made a special guest appearance to say hello to everyone.

We ended the day back home with some very sleepy but happy dogs. Since we were gone for a little bit exploring the floodwaters, the girls demanded their rewards! We’ve got sunset glows, bully stick chewing, and plenty of husky snuggles to go around. It’s a busy day of weather extremes here in Michigan, but as we always say: life is short, make memories with your dogs!
