Where the Wind Meets the Walls: A Coastal Home Shaped by Nature’s Quiet Rhythm | Wildcoast House

Wildcoast House by Pandolfini Architects is a coastal retreat thoughtfully designed to blend with the rugged landscape of Australia’s Mornington Peninsula. Defined by its curved “blade walls,” the home balances protection from harsh winds with carefully framed views of the surrounding dunes and bushland. Its layout is divided into separate wings for living, guests, and extended family, offering flexibility for different uses over time. Inside, natural materials like recycled brick, travertine, and timber create a warm, tactile atmosphere, while passive design strategies—such as cross ventilation and thermal mass—enhance sustainability. Rather than standing out, the house quietly integrates with its environment, reflecting a design approach rooted in restraint, context, and connection to nature.
