Raw Food Diet for your Dog? Show me your Teeth! Fan Friday #32

We have some questions! First question today is from Juliet. She wants to know our thoughts on the raw food diet. There are people out there that feed their dogs raw food. My vet told me, that it's not a good idea. I really like my vet, so I just believe her. I've looked into doing it and... You know, I just... There's a reason that we cook food. It's to kill bacteria and things that could form in food. So, why would I want to take that chance and feed raw food to my dogs? We have to remember... Hey! That's not yours! You have to remember, they are not wolves. They are domesticated animals. Their bodies don't digest things like wolves do. You know, there are people that feed their dogs raw diet. They do just fine, but... No! It's not something I would do with Shiloh and Shelby. Shiloh is doing pretty good on her quinoa and rice... Quinoa and chicken that she's been eating. She's actually been doing pretty good on that. Ok! Christine wants to know... If we clip their nails or if we have a groomer clip their nails? We do it! What's this you guys? Want to get your nails clipped? This is actually the nail clippers that we use on Shiloh and Shelby. They have a little guard on the back. So that... When you go to cut their nails... You can only fit their nails in so far. But... Because we do cut them at home, I do also keep a bottle of what is called quick stop. Just in case you cut a little bit too close and they do start bleeding. It stops the bleeding really fast. I've only done that maybe a handful of times. Right? Maybe a handful of times. It's usually you because you are always squirmy. You are! You are always squirmy! Squirmy Shiloh! Oh goodness! Cheryl wants to know... If Shelby has a bell to ring so she can go outside? Yes! Shelby has a bell that she can ring. So she can go outside. It's hanging on the door down there. It's just a big bell. A big red bell. But she does have a bell. Cheryl also wants to know... What is Shiloh going to do when it snows and she doesn't have a porch to sit on? I don't know Shi! What are you going to do? We really don't know! We talked about building her a little like a... Almost like a tent. But not really a tent. Like a wood building or something. So she can hide underneath there when it's snowing. We talked about putting a picnic table out there so she can sit on top of that. I don't know! Hopefully will get snow soon and we can find out, right? Hopefully! Oh! Big stretch! Lily wants to know... If we brush Shiloh and Shelby's teeth? I actually have a spray that I use for both of them. Like a... It's almost like a mouth spray. Go show them your teeth? I've never really brushed their teeth but... You know, Shiloh is ten years old and her teeth look pretty good. How about you? Can I see your teeth? Oh no! Shelby doesn't like it when I do that. I can't see your teeth? They want to see your teeth! Wait! Want to show them your teeth? Want to show them again Shi? Oh! There's Shiloh's teeth! Look at those teeth! Look at them teethers! Can I see? No! I can't see your teeth? How about now? Can you see them? Let me see your teeth! Do you want to show them your clean teeth? Let me see! Fine! How about now? Fine! We won't show them that you have clean teeth! She has clean teeth too though! Yes you do! You have clean teeth too! Tamara wants to know... If Shiloh and Shelby get upset when we go to work? Um... Of course, they always get upset when we leave. We usually see them sitting in the window right here. Whenever we leave, they sit and watch us drive away. Really? We're going to play now? Maybe we can see Shelby's teethers? Can you see your teeth? Oh! There's her teeth! She's got clean teeth too! When we checked our PO box today, we got this really cool drawing from Diane from Northern Ireland! That's really cool! We also got a letter and it says that Diane has two Huskies.
