Collar Or Harness for your dog? FAN FRIDAY #66

Hey guys, it's Comet and guess what time it is? It's Fan Friday! What's up girls? Let's get some questions in. Susan wants to know, do you ever take your girls out for walks with your friends and their dogs? Um, from time to time we do. Not very often, but every once in a while we'll go on walks with our friends and their dogs. Oh gosh, I said the W-A-L-K word. Maybe they won't notice. Leonie wants to know, if we have tried swimming with Oakley? Um, not yet. Not like in a lake or anything yet, but we might be trying it this weekend to see if she'll actually swim. I know you will, but we'll see maybe if Oakley will do it. Casey and Lanise want to know, if we have any hints for taking our dogs on long road trips? Um, biggest hint, bring water and something to put it in, so that you can give them fresh water whenever you make your stops. When making longer road trips with your pets, you are going to have to stop more often. Um, they'll definitely need to get out and stretch their legs every once in a while. It really just depends on how far you're going. You'll notice if your dogs are starting to get uncomfortable or restless. Most of the time, if we go on a long trip, we'll get out, walk them around at the first stop for quite a while and then they'll sleep for a little bit. So, if you notice them getting restless, it's probably time to stop again. Cassandra wants to know, how old will Shelby be turning? Um, if you guys aren't on our Facebook page, you may have missed it, but Shelby's birthday is very fast approaching. Her birthday is August the 8th and Shelby will be turning five years old. I can't believe you're going to be five years old, but yes, Shelby will be turning five years old. There was a lot of talk on our Facebook channel today about collars versus harnesses. This is one of those things that is completely a matter of opinion. Um, what works for you or what works for me, may not work for everybody. So, you really need to figure out what's going to work for you. Whether it be a collar or a harness or a Halti, which is the one that goes around their face. We tried a Halti with Shelby. It did not work. She would try to rip it off. She was not happy and it made a lot of noise and it didn't stop her from pulling. We've tried the combo collars, which seemed to work better. Um, harnesses don't work for us personally because all three of our dogs are trained... Well, Oakley not yet, but these two are trained to pull. So, when they have a harness on, they go into that work mode and they want to pull. That's why harnesses don't work for us. But, harnesses work for other people because harnesses don't put as much pressure on the neck. So, you're not going to injure your dog as easily with a harness as you would a collar. So, this is one of those things you guys, that you know, it's really up to you. I can't tell you what to do with your dog. You just have to figure out what works for you. Sydney wants to know, how early we wake the dogs up in the morning? About 5.30, 6 o'clock during the week. On the weekend, a little bit later or they wake us up. Dustin wants to know, if any of our girls like to sunbathe even when it's 90, 95 degrees out? Shiloh does. Shiloh will go out there and lay in the sun like it's the greatest thing in the world. Even when it's ridiculously hot. Shelby and Oakley, not so much. But, Shiloh loves to sunbathe. Don't you Shi? First thing we got in the mail today, was this cute drawing from Hannah. Hannah wants to know, how our dogs react when it's hot outside? Well, Oakley likes to dig holes in the sand. Shiloh likes to sunbathe in it. Shelby, who's under the table, likes to play in her pool. We also got a letter today from Sunshine. Sunshine is from Iron Mountain, Michigan. You haven't been there, but you've been there. Shelby's been there. Thanks for sending the letter Sunshine. We also got these drawings of Shiloh, Shelby and Oakley from Ashley Jo Videos. I have to say, I like that one the best. Pretty cool! Thanks for sending those to us. We also got this really cool drawing from Katelyn of Oakley, Shiloh and Shelby. Then, she made this. I'm assuming this is Oakley. It sure looks like Oakley. It's hard to read the back, but it says it was made by Katelyn. Oh wait! Maybe it does say Oakley. Pretty cool! Thank you very much! What you think of that girls?
