On Saturday Feb 2nd, Jamie and I (with the help of a few others), were able to donate over 380lbs of dog food, and other items to the Elk Country Animal Shelter. They recently took in over 37 dogs from an abuse situation and they needed some help.

Mail us stuff! Pictures, Drawings, Toys, Treats, Anything you want! (Some items will be donated to our local Shelter). And we may features the items in our videos!
So in today's video, we're gonna show you some footage from the Elk Country Animal Shelter.
We recently went over there and visited them and made a large donation to their shelter in memory of Shiloh.
Are you sleeping Shelby? Are you sleeping? Are you sleepy girl?
I'll show you some footage and I'll kind of tell you the story about
what went on over there and why we chose to make the donation to that shelter.
Right? Won't we? I think the girls are sleepy because it's nighttime.
Is it nighttime?
Yeah, it's nighttime.
It's nighttime.
I know.
So anyway, we thought we'd show you Shelby and Oakley first, so you could kind of say hi to them.
And now we're gonna tell you a little story.
So enjoy!
So as you can see, Jamie and I this past weekend were able to fill the back of our Jeep with over
380 pounds of dog food. We also took over bleach and paper towels.
Most of the dog food was purchased by Jamie and myself. We also had help from a few other places in town.
Catch and carry feeds helped us by giving us discounts on some of the food.
We took all of the items over to the Elk Country Animal Shelter, which is what you're seeing here.
They recently
confiscated over 37 dogs. Some of these little dachshunds are some of the dogs they confiscated.
They took them from a woman who had them out in her yard with no food, no shelter, no water.
She was feeding them roadkill.
Some of the dogs had hypothermia by the time they came and confiscated them.
But they took in all 37 dogs plus six miniature horses.
These are also some of the dogs that they took from the woman.
So the shelter itself has been overrun with these animals that they now have to care for because this woman
refuses to sign away her rights to these animals. So they have to care for them until either she says,
fine, I'll sign away my rights or a judge says, you have three felony counts against you.
We're not letting you have these animals back because you didn't treat them very nicely.
So until then the shelter has to care for them.
So in memory of Shiloh, we decided we wanted to make this donation to the Outcountry Animal Shelter.
These animals that you're seeing here were also found at the house, but she was apparently boarding them for somebody.
So these dogs that you're seeing here actually have a home because you know if they didn't I'd totally have to take one.
But these ones here actually do have a good home that they will be going back to.
We wanted to do something special and like I had said before,
some of you had donated money to Shiloh's vet fund when she was sick.
So we wanted to take that money and do something special for other animals in need.
We had had a few ideas, but when this happened in the newspaper, Outcountry Shelter is about 45 minutes away from our house.
They're a small shelter. If you look up Atlanta, Michigan, it's a small little place.
So we thought that the money would be best spent being used here for their shelter.
If you go to our vlog channel, which is youtube.com slash without the snow dogs,
you can actually watch more of a video kind of like this where we actually talk about the six-toed cat and a few of the
other things that we did that day and a little bit more on the story.
So if you want to know more about it, you can go check out that channel.
We just thought that you guys would enjoy
knowing up close kitty where
the money had gone and you know, kind of just knowing what we did. So we thought we would share this with you.
We're hoping that all of these animals are able to be adopted out and find homes soon.
Thanks for watching you guys.
We hope you enjoyed the adventure.
Lots of fun, lots of walks.
Don't you come into our Siberian world.
Stay open-minded. We dance in the snow.
